Failed the AP Chemistry exam...

I received a 2. I was almost certain I had passed but was left to accept the grade because I obviously won’t ever see what I missed besides the free response.

My chemistry teacher recently got my free response back and said that I had simply written the work & answers in between the lines instead of in the apparent blank space after the questions. (Yes I realize that this is ■■■■■■■■ of me but it was an honest mistake. It was my first AP science test also. I thought I was correctly using “the space provided”)

Am I just screwed with the fail grade or do they ever go back and look at it for test takers? It seems silly that I am graded on my use of the space rather than my chemistry knowledge, but I guess thats how life is sometimes.

That sucks, but there’s really no way they can do anything about it. In the scheme of things, though, AP test grades don’t affect all that much; just take it as a hard-earned lesson to be anal about reading and following directions on standardized tests.

Rough luck man. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about it. If only the readers could be more lenient in matters like this, but they have too many exams to look at.
