Failing calc 2 in high school

I’m a high school senior and I’m taking calc 2 as concurrent enrollment. 1st semester I received an f for my calc 2 class because I was not able to make it to quizzes and exam days. I’ve explained that I had no control over the situation so will that hurt my college apps for ivies and such? The grade is not on my high school transcript and I’m retaking the class second senester.

Any F in your Senior year in any course that is considered an a-g requirement (Math) would be grounds for having your acceptance rescinded by the UC’s. Even if it does not show up on your HS transcript, you are still required to also submit your college transcript if you are taking college courses.

You need to contact the UC’s as follows:

If there are changes to your academic record…

Freshmen: If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to all the campuses to which you applied.

If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes. Although you must notify the campus of these changes, we cannot guarantee that a campus can go back to review an application after correspondence has been received. Make sure to save a copy of your correspondence just in case.

Yes a grade of F will hurt your chances. You are required to divulge that grade and the transcript from that college with your record.

Even though calc 2 is not a high school level math? And what about ivy league?

Yes, it’s still a negative for your record. If you sign up for the class, you’re expected to get yourself to important things like exams.
