Failing Math 1B?

So I’m not doing too well in Math 1B, and I might fail, depending on the grade I get on the final. It’s not like I don’t understand the material, it’s just that the GSIs grade quite harshly and award no partial credit. My first midterm went poorly because I made a few algebraic mistakes and received no partial credit, even though my calculus was correct. The second midterm grades were all dismissed because the exam was too hard. This means only the first midterm and the final count (homework too, but it’s rather insignificant).

I am really not up for retaking this class next semester. I would much rather wait until a summer and take it then. I feel that I know the material well and can perform well in subsequent classes. My question is, what would happen if I continue to Math 53 and Physics 7B? Math 1B is a prerequisite for both classes but the system does not check for prerequisites. If I take them next semester and do well, and then retake Math 1B later, will it count? I know the advisors would tell me to retake 1B, but what would happen if I just continued and came to it back later? My only worry is that the classes will end up not counting because the prerequisite is incomplete. Not sure if this is relevant, but my major is astrophysics and physics. (This is all assuming I don’t pass 1B)

Any advice? Thanks in advance.
