I have 90+ in all of my classes, just math. So if I take math in summer school, will this effect my score? Also, I want to become a Police Detective or something similar to it, will colleges look at my history/english grades more? I have 97 in history and a 100 in english. Thanks.
Yes it affects your college options. Why would you think it doesn’t?
For starters, in my school at least, a 68 isn’t failing.
Which math are you taking, and why are you failing? Is this your average for the whole year, or for this marking period? Is math a subject that you typically struggle with, or is there some reason why you’re suddenly struggling? Know that some math courses are simply more difficult for some kids than others.
Now, let’s talk colleges. What sort of schools are you thinking about? If it’s something uber competitive, then, yes, this will really matter. But if you’re thinking of a school that’s less competitive, then struggling with a single course for a single year isn’t the end of the world.
To me the 68 says something…
- Are you in the right class?
- Are you studying the right way?
- Are you studying enough?
- Do you have a learning disability?
- Do you need extra help?
I would figure out what the issue is so you can improve. Math is important for all majors.
