congrats! We were deferred :-(. One sad kiddo here. At least it wasn’t an outright NO I guess.
Keep the faith!
We got deferred as well. My daughter is actually thrilled. Some of her friends were denied outright. Tbh we didn’t put in the interest I know this school looks for. She goes to Catholic high school that they visit so we sort of hoped that was enough. We will definitely do the interview now! Deferred is still a leg in the game! Congrats to all that were accepted!! ![]()

We got deferred as well; seems like a lot of deferrals - at least from what my daughter is hearing. But yes will do the interview as well and see what regular decision brings!
I really do not understand the deferral, more than qualified from reviewing prior year CDS. 1420 SAT, 96 WGPA, 8 AP, 3 Varsity Sports and community service. We took a campus tour.

Meant to reply to thread. Our school doesn’t do 4.0 scale so this always trips me up. Dd has 97.5 unweighted, lots of rigor, test optional, lots of sports and music , a couple of leadership positions. Got the Magis//Honors invitation snc $28,500. There was only one other acceptance at our schools and lots of deferrals. Think it took a lot of people by surprise. Even students in the full IB program were deferred.

My son was accepted EA. 3.6 GPA no test scores. I am an alumni and my wife went to a a Jesuit university. I think that helped.
That makes no sense with those credentials.

Haven’t made the decision to accept yet….she has other solid choices but I do hope Fairfield makes the cut!
Similar stats and deferral - 4.0 unweighted/4.7 weighted, SAT 1420, 9 AP, all the rest honors. 2 sports, job, volunteering, leadership roles, multiple honors societies, etc etc. Feeling completely baffled over here.
My son was accepted EA. 93 gpa/99 weighted. 4 ap classes and mostly all other honors. Involved with volunteering, golf and cross country team. We are alumni and he did tour and interview. $23k scholarship.
My daughter was deferred from EA POOL- her letter says she will hear a final decision by April 1st. Does anyone know if this is when the regular applicant pool decisions are released? Seems kind of late in the game to hear back!
