Fairfield Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

No, I think they start sending them out earlier than that, but they don’t all come out on the same day. It may be that the April 1 date is the latest you will hear from them - so that you can plan accordingly (managing your expectations)

Looks like “by 4/1” is the regular decision. My daughter was deferred from Binghamton EA and her letter also says 4/1. I would think you would hear much earlier but this is the latest date. As kids withdraw their acceptances, more spots will open, but the latest date for regular is 4/1 so I guess they give that date as the latest date possible for notification.

She reviewed the communications from her admissions counselor and he said mid-March so here’s hoping we hear sooner than later!! Thank you!

We are confused by my daughter’s deferral as well. She applied as engineering.

4.4 WGPA, 1370 SAT, 6 AP, 3 Honors, Varsity Sport, several leadership positions, several clubs, peer tutor in 2 subjects, 120+ hours of community service, work experience. We took a campus tour. She was accepted at Villanova but deferred at Fairfield. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I am sorry to hear that, but it’s a deferral, not a rejection. Hang in there. I can tell you that I know of students who have gotten into FF this year for engineering, but their SATs were high, 1400s, and higher. I suspect the 1370 may have been the issue. Also, FF tracks demonstrated interest, beyond visits (email open rate, interview, virtual events etc). With a school like this, you really need to do a lot.

As for Villanova - I am pleasantly surprised because their average SAT for last year was 1440, and engineering students typically have higher scores (1500s). I can’t recall, over the last few years, that many students under 1400 being accepted right away. The GPA would have helped here. This is definitely a good and solid choice. But I am sure FF will come through.

Did she do an interview? I only ask because my daughter’s academic advisor basically told her this is why she was deferred. She did not do it. Needless to say we are scheduled! Haha

My daughter applied ED II :pray:t3: hoping for an answer Thursday! Anyone else?

She’s an Official Stag!! :heart::deer::tada:

are deferrals common for fairfield?

She was accepted yesterday into the Honors program, with a $28,500 scholarship. College admissions is certainly an interesting process. Good luck to all the other applicants that were intially deferred!!
