<p>hi. i’m a reporter and i’m working on a story about fake ID sellers and buyers at new york city universities and colleges. is anyone out there willing to talk to me anonymously about their experiences with this? how much a fake ID costs? how much competition is there between fake ID manufacturers in the dorms?</p>

<p>i agree with meateater, i have many friends from nyc who got their fakes from a couple of places on christopher st. There are a few shoe or vintage clothing stores that make them (I think they made ohio, pennsylvania, & michigan and the prices ranged from $85-120)…</p>
<p>is there a code word to use at these christopher street places? or can you just ask a salesperson?</p>

<p>haha. that’s exactly what i was gonna say. i’ve never seen a reporter get their info from strictly online, and therefore, unligitimate sources. and also not capitalize the first letter of each sentence. haha.</p>
<p>Haha in 9th grade my friends and I got fake IDs on Christopher street and they were sooooooooooooo fake. Like so fake. I think mine was from Michigan. I barely ever used it because I hated having it turned down every time. Also, you should watch out when you go to Christopher street bc they totally rip people off depending on how they look/dress. Like if you look like you’re fresh off the plane from Idaho they’ll charge you $1, whereas for most New Yorkers & other savvy types it should be more like 60-80. Needless to say, I disposed of that ID shortly after buying it. :)</p>
<p>also, the cops are really cracking down on fake ids now bc its linked to terrorism and blablabla, its a federal crime. I would just get an older friend to buy you drinks, ‘reporter’. ;)</p>

<p>My favorite is when these shops on Thompson, Christopher, Bleeker whatever that make all their money from id’s get angry at real customers that want to by those ****ty vintage sports clothes. I would think these people would be tipped off by the fact that these stores clearly have no inventory and carry like three shirts.</p>
<p>My favorite id moment is when my friend went back to the store where she got her fake id, and used it to get a tatoo. lol.</p>
<p>filmxoxo some of the ones i’ve seen on christopher st. are really bad…the one’s from this place called “Freak Lounge” (or something like that) are terrible…and very true you have to watch out because you could get ripped off. My friend wanted a fake so I accompanied her to get one (she didn’t want to go alone)…we ended up going to this like shoe store on christopher st. (if i remember correctly the adress was something like 55 Christopher St.) where the minute we walked in my friend asked “do you guys…” and right as she said those three words the just motioned for us to follow him…we went into the back of the store where he ended up making a really nice ohio id but it was kind of expensive…something like $85. My friend has used it everywhere and it always works.</p>
<p>Yeah haha I love when my friends try to use their IDs and they’re all from different states and the store owner/ bartender/ whoever - is like ‘yeah, and how do you all know eachother?’
My camp friend has a good one that works too. I guess it’s the luck of the draw.</p>
<p>You can get “novelty” fake ids on the Internet for around $100. I think they are made in Great Britain. Nothing will beat just using someone else’s ID who looks like you though.</p>

<p>lol, i dont buy the reporter thing but if you want to know about fake ids, in arizona they come usually at $100 (if you got like “connections” some can get for 75-80). The ones in AZ, better quality ones, they can scan and everything =P. I dunno what the competition is like in college since most kids in AZ get their fake ids in high school. Id say close to 40% of my graduating class (430 students) had a fake id by graduation.</p>
