<p>Today I got a call on Skype from a financial aid officer at Depauw University. He said they were interviewing all accepted international students to determine our need-based financial aid. I did not question how he found me on skype or why he called without any notice on a Saturday of all days. He seemed quite bored and I thought it was because of my answers, but when I hours later today received a message from him on skype saying “You’ve been ■■■■■■■!” I understand why. Before I got a call from him I became friends with a fellow applicant from these forums and I thought it was because he wanted to chat about colleges and so forth. He is the only person from this forum who knows my name and that I got into Depauw University, so I have no other thoughts on how this happened. Sorry if I am wrong but I feel the need to warn others about this guy since it was not funny at all at the receiving end of this prank. I am unsure whether I am allowed to post his username here or not so I will wait with doing so before I get a few responses or maybe even let him come forward himself and apologize before he gets himself into more trouble.</p>
<p>I hope he doesn’t do this to any other poor applicants since it is really difficult to dispute an authority (even if it seems very fake) , because if one is wrong the consequences could be dire. So, should I come forward with who he is or what should I do?</p>
<p>You better hope he just “trolled” you and does not use your information in some kind of identify theft scheme. Don’t know if you have a US social security number, but if you gave him that or any account numbers you could have a significant problem.</p>
<p>By the way… I am a casual poster out here, and I know you got into Depauw. Don’t know your real name, but I think you have posted enough info in the past that I might be able to figure it out. So I supposed it is possible it wasn’t that person. But if you are sure it is, be sure you notify the moderators and give them his user name.</p>
<p>He did not ask for any personal info, so I think I am fine, but I don’t think I have put my last name on the internet or even my first name (even if that is easy to figure out).</p>

<p>Thanks, but I decided not to report him since I am not 100% certain it is him. Someone might have spent hours looking through all my posts and then with a little research maybe found out my name and then tried to call the 4 different people on skype with my name. I know it is probably less likely, but I don’t know and I have gotten over it snce yesterday. Thanks anyway!</p>
