Hey everyone… I tried to figure out that time roster thing, however… I’m completely confused. I also tried to figure out the stuff through schedulizer.com, but… I decided it’s just be better if I ask here.
I’m looking at this page:
<a href=“404 | CUinfo | Cornell University”>404 | CUinfo | Cornell University; …
So here are my questions:
What is that “LET” grading option? (S/U… ok that’s satisfactory/ unsatisfactory… but LET? are they equivalent?)

“SECTION 1-8 = 100 M” … = 100M???

What do the “TR”, “T”, & “W” represent? For instance, “LEC 02 TR”…

“CO-MEETS WITH EAS 121 AND CIS 121.” -> I guess this means people from other programs are taking the class too? Or?

CS 100 (for instance) is mentioned 5 times, with sub-courses… does this mean it’s simply one single course, divided into different parts, each with exercises? And then, if we sign up for the course, do we have to take the sub-courses?

Then, a “bonus” question… I tried to find info on this, but only have heard people speaking of it… So in Cornell, we first take a course, every single day of the week, finish it, and then start another? Does this mean I have to look for the dates of the courses, instead of the “hours”? (Hope you got what I meant…)

LET means the class gives out letter grades.

I’m assuming you’re looking at CS100; CS100 is broken into 3 (4?) different types (matlab, java, honors, and maybe robotics?) and you can choose which one you take according to which lecture/section you choose.

TR=Thursday, T=Tuesday, W=Wednesday–days classes meet.

All that means is the same course can be registered for under several different titles (i.e. in different departments).

CS100 depending on which “type” of CS100 you take it’s usually 2 lectures and 2 section meetings per week.

As for your bonus question: you need to look at the days of the week (usually monday wednesday friday or tuesday thursday) and also the times they meet and figure out a schedule with that.

Don’t confuse “TR” with Thursday, it means Tuesday (T) and Thursday (R). I know people who have done this and were like, “Omgeee, my class meets only once a week!”

I’d guess LEC= Lecture & SEC = Section from what towerpumkin has written above…
However, I wonder… if some courses have different “types”… how do we make the choice? aaargh. I wish there was more info about all of this on Cornell’s wsite… (To current students: how did you figure all this out when you first got in??? it’s confusing )

I think CS100 is the only class with “types” like that. Anyway, don’t they assign you your classes for first semester anyway? You can always switch classes during add/drop if you don’t like what you have.
