Fall 09 - Phys 2B - Skip 1 outof 3 weekly lectures

Due to conflicting classes, can I skip one of the lectures each week and make it up by reading the book and discussing with friends attending the same class?

its possible

its very easy to get lazy, though

I skipped just about every class after the first 3 weeks, barring quizzes. As long as you keep up and don’t get lazy, you’ll be fine. It becomes a problem when you skip class AND neglect to do the reading and hw.

on another note… how is sharma for physics? From ratemyprofessors.com, it doesn’t seem like he’s taught 2b before. >_>

Well… depends. Quizzes are usually on Fridays so as long as you aren’t missing Friday you should be ok. But sometimes they’ll be on different days, which they’ll tell you about in advance.
Generally speaking, the book will probably be clearer than the professor. Missing class won’t be a big deal at all.

I agree with ^ ^ ^

The Physics 2 Professors (except for Dudko) seem to be incredibly confusing. I took Schuller for Phys 2A for a few weeks, then dropped it because he’d just lecture in circles and his quizzes weren’t representative of the homework at all.

I heard Sharma was “okay”, better than Schuller, but worse than Dudko. I don’t know if that even helps, but he isn’t bad.
