About that time

wow. cool. I think I’m applying!!!

I am! This fall I’m going to UNCW…how competitive are sophomore transfer admissions?

heyy, yea ive decided to transfer to. I go to USC, and im hoping to transfer to rice, northwestern, penn, brown, stanford, hopkins, columbia, or cornell…where are you guys thinking about applying to?

Yep, definitely applying. I’m at NC State right now and my first semester GPA is pretty high. However, I haven’t been as involved on campus as I should have been so how much will that hurt my chances? I’m also thinking of applying to William and Mary, Tufts, and Washu.

I go to UM now. Only applying to transfer to UNC. I live in NC and it’s the only school I would consider going to in NC.

haygirlhay – what don’t you like about NC State? (Just wondering.)

haygirlhay- I don’t think not having ECs will hurt you. If you are a freshman, you can put stuff from high school. I’m applying for junior transfer and I still may put activities from HS.

@LadyDianeski- Don’t get me wrong, I think NC State is a fine school, but I just don’t think it’s a good fit socially for me. I would like to go somewhere where students are more “intellectually and academically motivated,” if you will. I would also like to go to a smaller school though I suppose transferring to UNC won’t really help me much in that aspect.

haygirlhay – that makes perfect sense. I wasn’t trying to give you the third degree, honest! Just curious. :)

DS did not apply to NC State. I know kids who have hated it and kids who have loved it…as you say, it’s all a matter of fit!

DS also applied to UNC Asheville, Western Carolina, and AppState. Sometimes I wonder whether UNCA or WCU might be a better fit for him. He loves the mountains, and he’s used to smaller classes.
