I’ll be a sophomore this fall and I’m currently backpacking courses but I have no idea what are some good courses to take. I’m in LSA and not really looking for a hardcore math or science, any suggestions?

Considering the breadth of courses available in LSA, you’re not excluding a lot by saying you don’t want a hardcore math or science class. What does interest you? What classes have you taken and enjoyed? If you can provide some examples or ideas, that would make recommendations much easier.

Not sure what your major is, but you could look into the anthro department classes. There’s usually something that appeals to everyone. Also, if you’re at all intersted in the environment, I’d recommend taking a PitE (environ) class. A lot of them have a social studies focus instead of a natural science focus.
If you haven’t fulfilled the foreign language requirement yet, that would be good to get done.

Are you looking for easy courses?
Rocket Science (AOSS 101) is super easy to get an A+ in (make sure you take it with Aaron Ridley or Mark Moldwin ONLY).
AOSS 104, Introduction to Weather or something like that, is also a super easy course that a lot of people take because it’s interesting. Again, take this with Ridley only.
Public Policy 201 was a great course. When I took it, it was tought by 4 professors - one was the Dean of the School of Public Policy, one was the former University Provost and University Librarian, and the other two were graduate professors within the Ford School. Easy A (for most), minimal work, and extremely engaging lectures.
Astro 104 with Chris Miller was another fascinating course.

Anything by Bruce Conforth is a great course, too, though his classes fill up immeasurably quickly.
