FALL 2014 Guaranteed/ Conditional Transfers

Someone should definitely make a ‘Cornell University Guaranteed Transfer 2017’ Facebook group like past years have done.

I am at top University (ranked in the 20s of Forbes) it is also a top 20 most rigorous university in Daily Beast. I have a guaranteed transfer to the ILR. My current GPA is around a 2.9 or 3.0. I am nervous that I will not be accepted. But, as I stated before I am at a very hard University with an average Freshman GPA of 2.7 and average school GPA of 3.2. The person I have been contacting with at Cornell seems very interested in me and said many encouraging things and talks about “when I get here.” Does the University I come from play a factor? It seems unfair that despite having a lower GPA then asked, a kid with a high GPA from a community college or lesser school would be accepted over me. What do you think of my chances of getting accepted? Also my school is trimesters so my final grades come out within the next week.

Despite there already being a thread for accepted transfers, someone should make one (or FB group) just for accepted GT’s.

@manhatten022 I am an ILR GT that has already been accepted. It does explicitly say that you need a 3.3 GPA to fulfill the GT requirements. Since you have not fulfilled the requirements it appears (from previous threads) that your application will be considered among the regular transfer applicant pool. This does not mean you will not get in, it just means that you do not have a guaranteed spot. Being from a highly ranked university may help when you are competing against the other transfer applicants, but it does not excuse you from meeting the required GPA in order to secure your GT spot.

Best of luck, and if Ian is implying you will be accepted then I do not think you have much to worry about.

Hi everyone, so I created a facebook page for this year’s GT’s, mainly for discussion about things after being accepted, but anyone is welcome.

Here is the link:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/260700877435286/

-Or if u cant use the link, its titled “Cornell University Transfer Option 2014”

-Let me know if it dosnt work. Not exactly sure if im doing this correctly. I made it open for now so anyone can just join.

I changed name to this “Cornell University Guaranteed/Conditional Transfers 2014”

Has anyone’s “transfer evaluation” been updated. If so, what does it say? What does the “transfer evaluation” page look like for an accepted student?

@luc425 It says “Welcome [Name]!!” and then lists your major and at the bottom there is a link to view your credit evaluation. The only thing that has been evaluated is my fall semester courses, but it shows where those credits will count (CALS, Writing, Physical Science, etc.)

Awesome, thanks!

@luc425, Go back a few pages in this thread and you will see a post where I copy and pasted what it exactly said when my changed.
