You might as well get rid of all the schools that aren’t ILR, CALS, or Human Ecology because the others don’t do guaranteed transfers. It’s only for contract colleges.

Hi FindmeFazo (or anyone willing/able to answer the following questions),
I’m sorry to bother you but I couldn’t help but notice that we shared the same major & same school but I was reading a few of the GT threads from a few yrs back and all of them discussed how complex and picky Cornell is with the chosen courses. I was wondering you consulted or sent a copy of your courses to a GT administrator–also, for the Biology and Society major, we are required to take 2 composition/writing courses or a writing class and speech class–does the former mean a full year of composition class (my college only allows for freshmen to take a total of 16 credits therefore it was and is impossible for me to take another composition course)?
Thanks in advance!!!

Hey! I haven’t checked this thread since I first joined College Confidential…in April. It’s cool how many potential transfers there are, and I’d like to get to know people in the same situation. If anyone who’s going to transfer to Cornell next year is interested, shoot me a message and maybe we can connect via Facebook :D

Email CALS Admissions! Their responses weren’t very helpful to me, but if you bug them enough and make your questions very specific and easy to understand, they can give you a decent answer 70% of the time.
Yeah. Don’t be afraid of being annoying 'cause that’s their job and they themselves advertise on the transfer requirement page that their requirements are strictly enforced (though according to previous GTs, they actually seem to be quite lenient). You definitely don’t want to end up not being able to attend next year because you didn’t ask them if your classes are transferable.
Also, there was no restriction on which institution you can attend for your first year. They simply said “any” higher ed institution, not “an institution where you can perfectly meet our transfer coursework requirements.” I think you’ll be okay, but I would ask just to be sure. Don’t you have the option of doubling up on comp next semester?

I have a GT to the ILR school. I was reading the GT post from about 5 years ago on here, and they were all discussing the process with each other and it was nice to see the comradery between everyone. How are everyones courses going? Feeling any added pressure from the GT? I know I am. It’s always in the back of my mind. I hope everything is going well for everyone, and I hope to see you all in the Fall of 2014!

Hey guys, anyone else in here going for Bio sciences in CALS? I am but am unable to meet the intro bio course requirement cause I got a 5 on the AP and my current school forces AP credit on to you and blocks you from registering in the corresponding classes. Any advice or suggestions? I’m a freshman so by the time I register all the upper-level bio classes will be filled…I am taking chem and calc though. Any advice/suggestions?
