Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@minhtan there is no way… they have to do tons of paperworks for international students, and TAMU put international as priority

http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/international/after-applying

Most applicants for first-time undergraduate admission to the summer/fall semester are notified by the middle of April; most transfer applicants will find out about their decisions in June.

@mingtan but for domestic transfers they also say the decisions be out at the end of May. when they say June, it will not necessarily be June, may be earlier

Yeah it should vary from mid May to June, but I dont think we will get the decision around this time. By the way, where did you find out info about domestic international stds?

no… I meant “American transfers” by saying domestic

I’m a transfer from Austin CC and I was accepted last Friday and got my letter in the mail today. Seems like some people will start hearing any time now.

My status went from being in review to complete. Across the top of the screen it used to say; your application for admission is under review. Now it’s says; your application is complete. But there is not a decision on the page! What does it mean?

@rice00princess‌ no my brother a freshman just transfer red in with a 3.6 gpa. He is African American. Not sure if race helps in transfer app. If it doesn’t please don’t berate me I just don’t know. But I don’t think it’s too hard, since he had a 3.6.

@135pipe No worries. I am a girl so it might factor in my favor and I am going for biochem. What was his major and what classes did he complete?

@lovechickfila‌ I am aware of the 24 hour credits in residence situation. It won’t affect me because I only have credits for Calc1 and Geo 1. Since I am going for biochem, I have to take those intro chem and bio classes anyway so it’ll take a year for that.

He was in school of undergraduate. The regular freshman prerequisites

@135pipe‌ What was his major in the College of Natural Science?

Guys when will we hear about our financial aid rewards? Does anyone know?

I was wondering that too. It says check back in two weeks so let’s hope we don’t have to wait forever like admission.
Meanwhile, I’ve been doing the required paper work. Probably will visit Austin this weekend or next weekend to look for housing.

@lovechickfila bump

@lovechickfila‌ you hear anywhere from a week to two weeks after you have been accepted!

Just curious, is anybody here an international student, if so where do you come from? I’m technically not an international student but since I’m an immigrant, I do hangout with international student all the time at my school. Looking forward to meet you guys in the fall.

Anyone else still waiting?? Am I the only COLA applicant still refreshing my screen every 20min or so?? Someone mentioned earlier that those still waiting had a higher chance of getting accepted….how do you know that? Just trying to figure out whats going on down there at admissions!!! haha

lol I have to wait till July…

Thank you @Paguy8
