I got my fin aid! Got enough in grants to cover tuition and even books! The only thing I have to worry about now is housing! Ahhh I’m excited because going to UT might be a reality right now

My only other option is UH, I’ve been waiting on their fin aid.

@Golfing7861 On your My Status page click on the “Financial Aid” tab, if your file had been processed it will say: “You have been awarded aid for Fall 2014.” Click on “See CASH” and you will be forwarded to financial aid page, from here, look on the left side of your screen and click “My Financial Aid.”

@rangers32 I submitted my fafsa in February. I believe every transfer applicants have to submit their before March 1st. And your file will only get processed after you have been admitted.

@foafoa The priority deadline was March 15. If you apply after, you won’t get as much money. I wish I could have applied earlier, but my dad filed his taxes after that date and I was unsure about UT. I hope anything I do get however will be usable by the time of my first payment. Next year will be better I hope.

I actually applied after the deadline, around March 29th I think? My parents filed taxes late as well so that’s why it took me a while to file it. @rangers32 And I got notified of my aid today.

Does anyone know if UT sends out an acceptance packet for transfers like they do with the freshmen? My house got my official acceptance letter yesterday and I was wondering if anything else was getting mailed by UT.

I transferred to UT last fall semester. I’m int student and did not get accepted to McCombs until late May (Probably 20-ish). So no worries guys. Btw, I did not find any serious int students association here in UT so maybe we can make one :)

For fafsa I applied in February with only the school that I currently attend on the application. Last night I revised the application and added UT to it. Is this all I have to do or is there more? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

@Korsgaard It just the same way you file your fafsa at your current college. List University of Austin on your choice of school and they will automatically send your file to UT.

Uhg I filled Fasfa late. But on the bright side I was accepted to UT, idk if today, i stopped checking the last couple of days but HYE I’M IN! 3.7 gpa, mathematics, check my stats if that helps.

So I’ve been waiting on UH to see what their FA package would be for me…but I talked to an adviser that visited my school and he said he doesn’t know when they would come out with the rewards.

I’m scared by the time UH gives me their package, UT’s deadline for acceptance will be over. So I think I’m going to go with UT for next year…And now I’m so nervous to move out of home!

I emailed the College Houses co ops with my application- they said they would send me a housing contract within the next 2 weeks but nothing!

Where else is everyone looking for housing?

UT students mostly live in 3 areas: West Campus, Riverside and North Campus. Prices below are for 1 bed 1 bath room:

West Campus: many new rooms, closest to UT so very convenient you can walk to school everyday, and parties. Most expensive 750+/ month

Riverside: 20 mins from UT, but bus comes every 5 minutes. Last bus is at 11pm so cant stay late in school. Not all residents are UT students. Cheapest 400-600/month

North Campus: More quiet than West. Some apts are walkable to engineering schools. But students mainly use bike or bus. Price 600+/month

There’re other areas that I haven’t known of. You can check http://longhornleasing.com/ . Their prices are out of dated but you can estimate the location and distance to your college and contact them if you want. Best time to pre-lease is now till maybe end of may. Then price might go a little higher. Good luck
