Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

same here :(

@lovechickfila I am too waiting for a contract from College House. I signed up for the co-op housing at College House and ICC but receive neither contract from both. The woman at ICC emailed me that she went out of town and not return until next week; but also, she says for sure that I already have a spot and she will email me the contract as soon as she get back to office. The College House, however, still not promise me anything. Everytime I email them, they say that their system is currently down.
You told me you will live in the Pearl right? I think I will live in Laurel/Halstead if there are room available. If not then I will live in Seneca.

@kimimaro Are you sure it’s that expensive? $700 a month? Is that for off-campus dorm, co-ops or apartment? Because I check all the co-ops room rate, every double room cost around $560-639.

Far west is where I live and I pay between $500-$600

Hi guys, I’ve applied for transfer in COLA, 1st choice Int. Studies, 2nd choice Sociology.
GPA is 3.65 from 1st semester, but 5 of my hours are nontransferable so I am waiting until the end of spring semester to send in my spring transcript.
So nervous my GPA will drop after this semester…anyone know the lowest GPA someone from COLA has gotten in with?
Thanks everyone!

@foafoa the price is for apartment. Although a few co-ops are also in West Campus, their rooms are older and I believe you dont have your own kitchen. But yes it cheaper than most, if not all apartments in West Campus.

Forgot to mention: 2 letters of rec, 2 essays, really strong resume.
I already have a place to live in west campus…really excited but so scared I won’t get in and will have to go to ACC!

@foafoa I emailed College Houses today and no response! They said it would take 10-14 days for a contract offer and it’s been past that. I was hoping to live in a co op to make friends and it’s pretty cheap compared to other apartments!

What majors did y’all apply to? @chuck616 @butidk

@lovechickfila‌ CNS. And I have over 30 hours so idk what is taking so long!

That’s strange! I hope you get your acceptance soon, I doubt they will deny you after making you wait this long. @butidk

@lovechickfila I also applied to CNS and have over 30 hours, not sure what’s causing the delay

Well if it gives y’all any comfort, I got denied from CNS which was my first choice, so I’m sure that if you’re still in review it won’t be a rejection because you must be competitive to have stayed in review this long. Good luck. :)

Accepted to McCombs from ACC :slight_smile:
GPA only 3.6

@EtiquetteOfWar‌ hey congrats! What were your stats?

@etiquetteofwar Congrats! Are you currently enrolled in Calc 2? Or have you already completed the course?

Is anybody here still waiting for their decision preferably in COLA Economics or COLA in general with a 3.5+ and over 30 hours already? From the previous threads, people should be getting notified of their decisions and I feel like I’m the only one left out!

@DanielKim3‌ I am waiting on both CNS and COLA. I have 64 hours and a 3.67.

@Jeffwinger

I have a 3.6 GPA, with mostly A’s in all the business classes (macro/microecon, calc I and II, accounting, etc) and some B’s in less important classes. SAT is around 2100, and my essays/extracurriculars are particularly strong.

@DeePrep‌

I’ve already finished Calc II

Just got rejected from CNS (first choice) and UGS (second choice) on Friday. My appeal was also rejected today.

46 hrs, 3.75 GPA.

Already very successful in my field (software developer).

Volunteer through my work with open source software. I’ve written software used by several startups.

4 letters of rec (one from a teacher, one from my boss, one from a CEO, and another from a public figure within the open source community).

Pretty bummed. Does anybody know if we are told why we were rejected? I’m not quite sure what to do next. What the hell do I have to do to get accepted?

@devinus that sucks i’m sorry to hear that… my stats are very similar to yours and i’m still in review, except I didn’t get any recommendations letters from a CEO or a teacher
now im nervous
