Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@pewpew13‌ you are social work right?

@saammmaay‌ And your transcript was in by then, correct? That’s honestly not too long a decision, some people waited months and months! But I would call admissions and just ask when you can expect a decision. I don’t really think it’ll be that much longer though.

I called yesterday early afternoon to ask if there was a date when we would absolutely get a decision. it was just a general question, not about my application specifically. I was told “you will hear this week.” My status changed after 6:30p last night.

@123456B Yes. I am just worried cuz lizell123 got accepted already. I put cola undeclared backup just like her. And she even sent in her transcript later than me. So its just very frustrating. But I actually called admissions and they said that they will have decisions rolled out by the end of this week. ALL OF THEM apperently. Altho i feel like we are always given mixed answers. Last time I called they said it would b june 30th or something.

What are your stats and hours?

@saammmaay‌ Well if your first choice major is different than @lizell123‌ then you could definitely face different wait times, just don’t get discouraged. Late good news is better than early bad news!

And I have a 3.8 GPA with 32 hours from UTSA and 28 from Dual Credit/AP. I applied to COE.

Accepted today! COLA undeclared 3.48 with 31 units. First choice was COE. So excited. Good luck everyone.

@utbound2014 how were ur essays and extracurriculars?

Essays were pretty strong. Lots of freshman leadership involvement at my university. Originally, I had UGS as my second choice, but changed to COLA undeclared before file was under review based on positive results from others. I’m so glad I did!! Hang in there.

ACCEPTED!!! OMG! This wait has been definitely worth the while. I pray for everyone else who is still waiting for a decision. I have HIGH HOPES FOR ALL OF YOU!

my stats are:

3.6 gpa
strong essays
strong extracurriculars.
32 hrs

SPRING 2015 THREAD HAS BEEN CREATED. LURKERS WELCOMED! I am still available to current applicants for 2014 Fall btw! Good luck and congrats to those accepted already! \m/

@saammaay what was your first choice major?

My first choice was CNS Bio. However, I was accepted into COLA. My main problem was my lack of “major” classes since I was a psych major first semester and then switched to bio. I lacked calc 2 and bio 2.
@collegestudent26‌

Does anyone know how hard internal transferring is going to be?

@DeeGeeErbear could you please chance me?

Applied to McCombs. Transfer student from ACC. Did all the required courses and made A’s on all of them (cal1, cal2, macro and micro) I also have A’s on both Accounting 1 and 2 and all the businesses courses i took. The only B’s I got were for history and govt.

3.86 GPA
Good essays
Lot of extracurriculars from high school.
Member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
Two GREAT recommendation letters from Deans in the Accounting and Economics department.

My final grades were received by UT on the 21st of May. It’s been in review for months. I’m not sure why they are not letting me know sooner. I know McCombs is a tough school to get in. I heard even some with a 4.0 didn’t get in. Do you think maybe they might consider me for McCombs? I’d appreciate if you could let me know what you think.

can I still apply for housing?
I was planning to apply to Colorado apartment in the campus, but I heard that if I apply now, I have to wait at least 6 months…

@saammmaay‌ Told you! CONGRATS!! See you on the 40 this fall :)

@collegestudent26‌ I definitely think Mccombs will give you a look! Your GPA is a bit low for Mccombs, but honestly you have really proven yourself through other things. May I ask if those deans who wrote the letters are from UT? If so, that will greatly enhance your application apart from the others. Also, if not Mccombs, I can say you have a wonderful chance at a second choice major.

@saammmaay‌ no that hard 3.7 gpa and up you are golden

@DeeGeeErbear thanks for your reply. I’m just trying to grab hope wherever I can. It’s been “in review” since March, so I’m just wondering what’s taking so long. The deans who wrote it were from ACC (the community college I go to). thanks again!

Out of curiosity, for those who submitted a Continuing & Transfer Student Scholarship Application, have any of y’all heard back yet?
