Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@lovechickfila I am, super excited!

You can take the ALEKS anytime before the deadline! I have to take it for my marketing statistics class. Only need 20% to pass! :slight_smile: UT should be emailing you reminders with a link to the UT ALEKS website if you are registered for a class that requires the testing.

@MrAmazin‌ post it in the appeals please
Congrats man
Thank the longhorns for appeals lol

@lovechickfila‌ Let us all know how orientation goes! I’ll be at the July 10th-11th one!

@texansfan1 what’s BU and RU?

@Putnan‌ I think he was referring to me – Boston University and Rutgers University

@texansfan1‌ It has to do primarily with passion. Rutgers University has nothing in film. Surprisingly nothing (went to a club meeting, one of only two existing clubs for a school of 30,000 devoted to film production, and they had 5 members. You need 10 to stay a club, and they’d been forging signatures for 2 years now). I honestly just couldn’t take a semester longer being stuck in a place where I couldn’t pursue/learn anything about film (versus BU which has like the 11th best film school in the country)… and although that may have perhaps been an unwise decision financially, the decision has already been made nonetheless. I’d rather not look back.

Bump any other good news for others

Hello,

I’m considering transferring to UT for spring 2015. I wanted to know what scholarships would be available and would there be a substantial amount left? Any information you could give concerning financial aid/scholarships would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

@plipplop‌ There has been a thread started for Spring 2015 transfers. @DeeGeeErbear‌ should be able to answer your question!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-texas-austin/1660017-spring-2015-transfer-thread.html#latest</a></p>

If any of you from Houston and take a bus service to Austin for orientation please give me some advice. My parents were at work that day and they won’t let me drive to Austin by myself.

Take a megabus! They drop you right off on campus by the Dobie Center!

Second the Megabus! The drop off is on Whitis Avenue, right here: <a href=“Google Maps”>Google Maps;

So to anyone else that was denied did you have a “to do” thing telling you to pay the enrollment deposit?? I have one and it says “If you plan to attend UT Austin, your enrollment deposit or your request for a deferment must be received by 07/21/2014” but i was denied so i’m a little confused

@Saborak‌ call admissions! You don’t want to try paying it, then find out it was a glitch and not get all your money back.

I did and they fixed it :slight_smile:

Did you get in then???

@Saborak‌ What was it?

They had submitted my stuff wrong.
@135pipe‌ no I did not, they said to just reapply :/

Screw them ughhhh I would have sued

I was admitted as a transfer sophmore for Fall 2014
UTD
3.5
Chemistry/Natural Science
I only had extracurriculars from HS
No recs either

I was surprised I was admitted. Is it just easier to get into NATS?

Could you recommend any housing options? I’m having a hard time finding something that’s cheap. Any opinions on Pearl St Co-op?
