Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Is anyone else that got accepted having trouble viewing their financial aid package? It told me to go to MyUCLA and logon and when I do it says. “Our records indicate that you do not have access to use MyUCLA at this time…”

Ho hum, I’m not that surprised. I knew UCLA was a stretch for me anyway. I didn’t feel as crushed as I thought I would be because the acceptance into Davis really cushioned the blow. If I had completed the honors program sooner I could have gotten a TAP, but oh wells. Congrats to all the people accepted! :wink:

@melimoo ; nope! a decent amount of people who get accepted to UCLA get rejected to Cal, and vice versa, though I’ve been told that more people who get into Cal also get into UCLA. However UCLA is known to be more numbers based, and Cal is more holistic/looks for minorities. Congrats to all on this thread, I haven’t been following it much but I’m a new transfer admit to the school of Arts and Architecture, as a Design | Media Arts (DesMA aka DMA) major.

If anyone knows anything about marching band or the major and, most importantly, scholarship money(!!!), please let me know. I’m transferring in from Cal, so if anyone’s still waiting on that and has any questions please feel free to ask.

So how hard is to do double major in UCLA? I accepted as pre- Asian Studies major, but I completed all poli sci pre-reqs except one course that my college doesn’t offer. I heard that it’s impossible to switch to impact majors like poli sci, so I decided to do double major.

Where can I find my financial aid award? Or is that not available yet?

@mtran283 You didn’t get into your alt major?

Oh yeah, and I was accepted as an Out of State student from a community college in Michigan! I thought the odds were against because of that and the fact that my major for Computer Science and Engineering is heavily impacted. But it happened and it is possible! I prayed on this since I started my application in August and Jesus answered me. Plan to take him with me when I go to UCLA. God is good! He made this possible despite the doubts against me for being out of state and wanting Computer Science and Engineering. Again, here’s my stats:

@lindyk8 thank you. I love the strength of their program and their notoriety, but the competitive environment and location of UCLA were a major concern for me. Hopefully they gave my spot to someone who performed better and will love the nature and location of the school. I can make my success anywhere

@fullload
UCLA’s pretty lenient with those contracts, despite appearances. If you get a C or two, it’s highly unlikely that they’ll reject you. D’s or F’s, on the other hand, will be a problem.
