Sorry to hear all these sad stories.

If anything I think they just wanted a queer mathematician lol. Congrats to everyone who got in, and good luck regardless of the decision! The fact that you are posting or even just browsing CollegeConfidential shows initiative on your part.

@bearly YAY!!!

@Legolas154 I’m really surprised you didn’t get in with such amazing stats. Your case is not the only one though. I saw someone with same stats last year didn’t get into UCLA but got accepted to UCB. With your gpa you’ll definitely get into some good place!

@joyceyu1302 I was accepted and didn’t recieve an email either. So excited!! But I have heard they’ve sent false acceptance letters in the past so I’m a little nervous… But mostly stoked!!

Is anyone planning on going to the STOMP Conference or Bruin Day?
I’m not sure if they’re practically the same thing or not.
I’m definitely going to Bruin Day… do you think I can do without the STOMP Conference? Because from what I’ve heard, they have a workshop for newly admitted students.

Thank you @lindyk8! I remember your helping me the most since I so often see your replies, so I am especially grateful to you! And this goes without saying that I’m grateful to anyone else who contributed to CollegeConfidential in some way or another too. Very eggcited!

@joyceyu1302 I haven’t checked my status because I’m to scared but I did receive the email that says decisions are out today!

Which bear are you rooting for @bearly? Bruin or Oski?

Anyone’s who’s application is still under review got the email today saying decisions are out today ?

I got accepted into Econ with a 3.83 GPA. I had all A’s with one C in Calc 2. Question is since in the provisional contract it says i have to maintain my Gpa if i get a C in calc 3 and all A’s in my other classes, will I be rescinded?

Hello,
I’ve been one of those people who just come and visit the website but never post, but I got into UCLA!
I was really surprised because my GPA is not that high (3.33). I am so thankful they considered every aspect of my application. I was accepted as a Pre Sociology major, with a few ECs as a volunteer at a hospital. What I think helped me the most getting in were my personal statements. This just comes to show that they actually do look at the whole picture. I also got into Davis but waitlisted from UCSD. Congratulations on those who got accepted! For those who didn’t, remember that a school does not define you nor your accomplishments, keep your head up!

@anxious2transfer I would sign up for Bruin Day. I want to check out the dorms and enjoy UCLA fresh air. Anyone will register for summer section?

Result: Accepted
Major: Chemistry
GPA: 3.43
IGETC: Completed
Pre-requisites: Completed
Accepted: Sac State, Cal Poly, UCLA
Rejected: None
Waiting for UCD, UCSB, UCI, UCB

Congrats @Geezlui . It just goes to show…

@lindyk8 I’m honestly on the fence about both! (and well I won’t know for sure until decisions next week…the last one). On one hand UCLA is a lot more convenient (I live in SoCal) and somehow feels more practical(?) if that makes sense. UCLA Math degree is a B.S. but UCB Math degree is a B.A., quite odd. On the other hand, I’ve always wanted to go to north cal/a little further from home (plus as a southern Californian, I hate hot weather and would love to go somewhere cooler). Also, Cal is Cal.

I guess I’ll make a more extensive weighing of the pros/cons of both schools soon…but let’s hope I have that choice in the first place, haha

*edit I just noticed in my original post (a few posts above) that I totally forgot to include my decision (I never wrote ‘Decision: ACCEPTED!’). But I’m guessing that was implied from the rest of my post. Too late to edit it now, but I can’t believe I forgot to include that ahaha

Just out of curiosity, did any contracts ask for high school transcripts? I’ve heard that some were asked in the past, but not sure if it was in the pro. contract or later.
