Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

@Manda001 most people I know took around 16 units a quarter (give or take), which amounts to about 4 classes. Depending on the course type it isn’t too bad usually!

Also I’m not sure if this is a dumb question, but why are math classes at UCLA 5 units??

but as a new student, many ppl will urge u to take the LOWEST # of units as a full time student just so that transfershock wont be as bad

I recommend 3-4 classes depending on the specific classes. I would recommend signing up for 4. Then once you receive the actual syllabi, then you can determine what’s most manageable. Maybe you can handle the load on all 4, but if not, then you can decide what to drop. I urge you to drop prior to the start of classes, so your spot can go to a waitlister.

@2016Candles If I would take 3 classes the first quarter, would I still be able to graduate in 2 years? It just doesn’t feel like a lot but obviously I’m in for a shock when I start I guess :open_mouth:

Anyone else seeing any changes to their Bruin Bill for Summer aid? Me neither. :frowning:

How do we check if they’ve received our igetc cert?

@fullload it will appear on your bruin bill tonight.

@Manda001 3 classes which is about 12-14 units is the norm, and provided you don’t drop classes, then it should lead to graduating in 2 years. There will be a quarter or 2 where you will go higher but not all 6 quarters. Assuming you don’t have a lot of prep work to do for your major.

You need 180 quarter units to graduate. You enter with at least 90 completed, or up to 105 completed. So divide 6 quarters by the number of units left to complete and that will give you an idea of how many units you need to average per quarter.

11 more days until my first UCLA course. I am so not ready. I want a longer break! I don’t want to wait until August for a break. But I just paid my $1,260, so this is really happening! :’(

Lucky, what do you mean by you paid $1,260? For your class? Via Bruin Bill?

I was admitted with a 4.0, but after Spring will probably end with a 3.85. Is that something worth reporting?

Read your contract, should be clear what to report and what not to report.

I just have the general “maintain your GPA.” I didn’t get any Cs but I don’t know if .15 is considered a “significant drop.”

It’s not.

I’m 24 and dorming.

@fullload umm yes?

Recently, I was denied twice (regular rejection and then a rejection of my appeal). I checked my email again to find out that a new decision was made: ACCEPTED!!

The decision was reversed!

CONGRATS franchie.

Lucky, I was asking because at the time, Bruin Bill had not updated for me, so I was curious how you paid.

Candles, FA is now reflected on my Bruin Bill but loans are not. Will loans be reflected there too, or is that done separately?

@Fullload I paid out of pocket with my debit card. I’m not getting FA.
