Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

update: hey so i was able to change my orientation from 208 to 201! i hope to see u guys then

Whoo @trnsfrstdnt see you there!

Hooray! My DAR also went back to normal!

But on the checklist for transfer it says to send it before orientation?

From the link:

"Hepatitis B: California law requires students 18 or younger to provide proof of immunity to Hepatitis B prior to entering the University of California.

UC Immunization Recommendations: You must also review the University of California’s immunization recommendations before you submit your Statement of Intent to Register."

If you are under 18 and dorming, you need a Hep B shot. Everything else is optional.

However, some shots (like the meningitis vaccine) are a very, very good idea.

@luckie1367 No way in hell hahaha. That counseling office is one of the most dreadful places on earth.

@trnsfrstdnt how did you do that?!?!

@Mac2000 I try to have some compassion considering they are dealing with 30k students, but I have yet to have a pleasant interaction with them. I always leave angry, alienated, and like I’m wasting their time.

@luckie1367 That’s fair and commendable. But I would argue its your time they are wasting. I once waited 2 hours for someone to look at me at a desk when I asked how my progress was and said “Yeah, just make sure you have 60 hours so that you can transfer.” And then looked at the door for me to make my exit.

@Mac2000 Ugh, that’s the worst, I"m sorry!

At least we are almost done!!!

@Mac2000 @luckie1367 At SMCC or UCLA?

SMC

Ok good I was like ugh not at UCLA too lol

Actually, the interactions (albeit limited) I’ve had with UCLA so far have been excellent.

I’ve had several emails returned the same day, which completely blew my mind!

@luckie1367 @lcj1994 Second that. They are great over there.

@fncrane you just have to call the orientation office and ask if they have any other openings! it’s honestly purely based off of luck but hey i got in! woo hoo! the number is 310-206-6685 (also have your ID number ready and it’s going to cost an additional 10 dollars because you are changing it).

Sorry for all the hassle but how many units are you all planning on taking? Are you going my number of courses or how many units each will give you?

you can always check on your myUCLA account and pretend as if you’re signing up for classes. it’ll tell u exactly how many units are each but from what i know, they’re usually 4 units and in order to be considered a full time student you’ll need at least 12 units (so 3 classes).

idk what major you are but for econ u need to take Econ 11 (4 units) and Econ 41 (4 units) your first semester there along with a regular GE class to be considered full time

@Icj1994 between 12 and 15, I haven’t really looked into it yet. Probably after my finals are over I’ll have a more detailed answer

Ok cool thanks guys, is there any reason we need to be full time or just for financial aid?
