@Icj1994 I think they expect you to make a certain amount of progress towards your degree every year, or you could face enrollment holds.
Just got myself moved up to session 202!! Thx for the tip @trnsfrstdnt!!
I just called the admissions office and they said it’s okay if your transcript is like a day late lol. But IGETC certification is due by September 1st
@UCLA17 did they say how we check if they received IGETC?
Also, did anyone else get a message in their ucla.edu spam folder from an honor society? It looks pretty spammy to me
Has anyone that was admitted late gotten a housing offer yet?
@luckie1367 the admissions rep said that you can’t check that on myUCLA, so you gotta call admissions and ask. I think they’re more worried about spring grades to be honest.
Anybody know any good/helpful details about work study? I really want to make extra cash while on campus and my PAL offers me up to 2,000 for work study
My UCLA gmail account only has received one email ever which is the first one we get when we set up the account, but my personal email has gotten more than that. Anybody else have that happen?
@UCLA17 try going to MyUCLA->Settings (top right corner)-> Official Email/Address/Phone
I think you can change it from there
Does anyone know anything about Daily Bruins? I would love to join! Is it something you apply for? Is it difficult to become a part of? I don’t know if my writing is good enough, but I would love to try! I don’t have much experience though.
Just switched to orientation 202!
Commuting for this summer is going to be a bear (pun intended). At least it’s only three days … and only one day is in the morning.
@anikom15 TELL ME ABOUT IT!! Not looking forward to it one bit.
@luckie1367
That degree progress thing you mention doesn’t apply to transfers. You can basically take your sweet time getting your degree, lol
I thought transfers had a designated time to complete coursework at all UCs. ??
@lindyk8
At UCLA, it doesn’t seem to.
By the standards of ECP(Expected Cumulative Progress), I should be in a little bit of trouble with UCLA, but for reasons that I don’t entirely understand, they exempt transfers from completing a certain amount of units in a certain amount of time there.
Thanks @Cayton! Thats good to know!!
Congrats btw on finishing your first year!
Quick question… I have about 17 semester units worth of out-of-state coursework. I’ve been reading that I’ll have to find direct equivalencies in order to receive credit, is that true? What is the process? Should I bring syllabi to an advisor or something?
None of the courses are remedial or vocational, but some of them are unique courses w/o an exact equivalent at UCLA. Also, I’m not sure if this is relevant, but one of the courses was also designed and taught by a current UCLA PhD candidate relevant to their current research. Is this something worthy of mentioning?
I’d say bring the syllabi to a counselor and see what they say
