@luckie1367 I got that email as well.

@luckie1367 what are the Ashe Center Forms?? And where can I find them?

@Icj1994 Its on the left under ‘patient sign in’
http://www.studenthealth.ucla.edu/default.aspx

Once you sign in, there are some links on the left. One of them is ‘forms’. I think 2 of them are for Ashe, and 3-4 are for the CAPS.

I don’t think there is a deadline for completing them. I just came across them as I was looking at stuff for UC SHIP (since I just got a grant for it) .

@apocalypso are you going to apply for any?

Thanks @luckie1367 ill look into that. Do you happen to know where we should park if we’re going to session 201 precession? I know we’re meeting for official orientation at Royce, but I cant seem to find anything but an arrival time for presession?

@lcj1994 the email states "Check-in for pre-session will be at 12:30 pm on the Sunset Village Patio. Parking is available for purchase via kiosk in Lot 11. Airport Shuttles should drop off at Rieber Hall. "

Cool thanks @futurebruin1 are you going to precession 201?

Yep, the post from FUTUREUCLABRUIN is correct.

However, I have a parking pass from my summer classes, so I was considering parking there since its closer and saving the money…

Also, this map has been super helpful http://maps.ucla.edu/campus/

So we’re supposed to receive an email with an itinerary or some sort of information for orientation? I believe I have session 202, which ever one is next Friday

@UCLA17 I received an email 1 week prior to my session (201)

There’s a UCLA map app that I’ve found quite helpful. It’s detailed and interactive.

Did anyone get the email about the UCLA California Teach program?

Okay minor problem. My DARS was finally updated with all my coursework and reciprocity papers, but I have an issue with some of the coursework evaluations. First of all, I was able to skip the first Single Variable Calc class at UCI (math 2A) because I got a 4 on the Calc AB exam. But my DARS is saying I need to take Math 31A at UCLA still because I didn’t get a 5?! And I should have gotten credit for a couple other courses that I was assured would transfer over, but it says I still need to take them. I’m going to call the admissions office tomorrow, but does anyone have any other thoughts on what I should do??

@fncrane good for you for checking it early, and not being blind-sighted at orientation!

Call Admissions as soon as possible tomorrow. Do you have anything that says you would receive credit (i.e an email or other handout)?

@luckie1367 I have an email from the admissions office last summer that says I could take ICS 6D at UCI for credit for Math 61 at UCLA. It’s a discrete structures course that I REAAAAALLLLY don’t wanna take again, and I busted my butt to get an A!

What are your thoughts on the AP credit thing? I shouldn’t have to take Math 31A, right?

Can you attach the email that says the discrete structures thing? That will help a ton.

RE: AP, ehhhhhhhhh, I’m not really sure. Part of me feels that if you satisfied it at UCI, you should be okay. The other part of me thinks that UCLA can enforce their AP credit rules… maybe if you spoke to someone in the math department about your situation, they could offer better advice.

Some of my coursework was also updated on my DARS, but I wasn’t given credit for a few upper-division courses taken at a OOS. Both courses have direct equivalencies… Do I need to bring syllabi for an advisor at orientation to receive credit? Or, have courses just been deemed as not transferrable?

Also, the DARS report doesn’t accurately reflect my updated grades (that I notified them of a month ago and sent an official transcript for verification). Should I call tomorrow?

@starkali bring the syllabi to your orientation to see what may and may not transfer. You might have to petition, but it may be worth it to not have to repeat the class.

When is your orientation? I think Candles mentioned the DARS isn’t finalized until a week before your date.

My orientation is next Friday (202).

@starkali if the other courses (not the UD ones) aren’t updated by this Friday (7/10) I"d call and ask. Does your MyUCLA show that your transcript was received?
