When is your orientation @luckie1367?
I’m already dripping in swag
All I have is a t-shirt. I’m not much of a swagbag.
At orientation, Berkeley gave my daughter a lanyard!
(Which every ensuing article says you shouldn’t be caught dead wearing.) B-)
I’ve never understood why people wear UCLA clothes to class. Why would anybody want to wear what somebody else might be wearing? Like why do you want to be the same as everybody else? I understand wearing it OUTSIDE of school (to acknowledge UCLA), but why AT UCLA? We all already know you’re there.
@Cayton its on Monday! How has your summer been?
@Mac2000 dude, we should totally match, do you have session 201?
@lindyk8 thats kinda funny! Is she going to use it at all?
@LuckyName I think its just easy and acceptable to wear your own spirit wear. Its not so much about matching, more just ‘hey, that shirt is easy to pair with some pants, lets go to class’
@luckie1367 It’s kind of funny because before CalSo she was reading various tips so you don’t look like a newbie and things like that. And every article was don’t wear a UCB lanyard. She didn’t think much about it till she got to CalSo and they gave her a UCB lanyard.
There’s no way she’s wearing it. =))
I rest my case:

@lindyk8 I think someone should let the administrators know!
That article was actually really good, and I love that it is called the ‘daily clog’
Would anyone like to say hi to me during the pre-session tomorrow ?
Desperately need your guys’ help…
I found out i have a hold at my cc, which means that I won’t be able to bring a copy of a transcript to my orientation monday. How important is the transcript? Could the student advisor pull up my transcript at ucla? Since I already submitted my official transcripts?
Please Im desperate…
@starcarbar
Transcripts aren’t really necessary, they are more of a back-up. But if you log into my.ucla and pull up your DARs then you should be able to see all previous coursework and ucla transfer equivalents. If everything looks like it should, then you’re fine, and having transcripts isn’t really necessary.
If you review it, and you find that there are issues (Ex: not receiving transfer credit for a prereq, courses missing altogether, etc), then the transcript becomes more important. If you’re trying to register for Basketweaving 100, because you already took Basketweaving 50, but your DARS isn’t showing 50, then you could use the transcript to try to work it out on that day. Otherwise you may not be able to register for 100, since 50 was a prereq for the class.
print an unofficial one but explain to them the hold and get your official one right away
Does UCLA offer short term online classes? Like ones that last a quarter or two. My CCC had it where it ended in the middle of the semester right before spring break
I was thinking of registering in one of those and 3 other in class courses, let me know what you guys think!
@starcarber, definitely bring an unofficial if you can pull it off your CCC portal. Especially if you have a hold. In fact, if you have a hold, was a transcript ever even sent?
