Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

K I need help!! So I was looking over my application and saw that it said “You have indicated that you are applying as a Junior level transfer student. The number of units you’ve reported (36 semester units/54 quarter units) does not meet the minimum required for the level you selected. The minimum number of units required for your level is 60 semester units/90 quarter units.” So I’ve gone through my schedule with multiple counselor in my CC and they said I would have over 60 units with my AP test credits, I’m even taking a western civ class just to make sure I’m over 60 unuts. So would the UCs sort it out themselves or should I call just to make sure

Yeah, I read that when it came out @cayton. Not the best foot forward.

And about the Jewish girl who cares I bet she’s happy that happened with all the publicity she’s gotten. Idk if you saw the video but it was this Muslim girl who was asking all the rude questions. The rest of the students weren’t sure what to say but I doubt they care that she’s Jewish. The Muslim girl probably dislikes Jews so if anything just kick her out of the committee boom problem solved

I see you have prison bars. I don’t know who you are but every post you’ve put up since you joined about 4 days ago have been negative. You got bars within three days. Maybe you should reassess.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2l3NBbiQ11Q there you go lady exactly what i said most of the students were against the prejudism. I doubt UCLA cares whether your Jewish or not. Well lady idk what ur planning to do but I still have questions to ask. Your were on all the threads from last year too I’m sure you have better things to do.

I didn’t even realized I join 4 days ago way to go

There are ways to say things other than via an ethnic slur: “The Muslim girl probably dislikes Jews so if anything just kick her out of the committee boom problem solved.”

Your account opened on March 4. It’s noted on the profile page to the right of the prison bars.

Jews is not a slur it’s a proper label most Jewish people say that word on a daily basis. Neither is Muslim and this shouldn’t be made out to be a bigger thing then it is. Most minorities go through much worst on a day to day basis.

Ok, I hear ya. Just keep in mind the way it sometimes might sound.

if i have below a 3.4 gpa do i even have a chance at ucla honestly?

shitss got me totally bummed out.

Confident i’ll get into other UCs though.

I mean…my sis got into UCLA, USC, Berkeley, and Stanford…so yeah i know i’ll totally never be as productive to society as her, but i’m just hoping that maybe the sun can shine on me for once in my family.

I’m happy for my sis but she seriously gets all the attention and praise in my family ever since she was accepted to all those schools last year…I just want to show my mom that i’m not a failure and that i too can get into a good UC and be successful. Because i feel she just ignores me and tends to every need my sister asks for.

It’s not fair sometimes, but i’ve never talked to my mom about this only because i don’t want my sis to know i’ve been feeling this way. Yep i totally hide my emotions regarding matters pretty well.

Sis chose to attend stanford after almost going with berkeley. I’m glad for her but i’m trying my best and she has been encouraging me greatly, even though i’m not the ucla or berkeley bound superstar student like she was.

@qaz1995 take it easy bro, you’ll get banned if you keep these types of comments up.

@Samantha19 what is your major? Don’t take your sister’s accomplishments as marks against you. I’m sure your family loves you too! Its not always about prestige of school, its about what you do once you get there.

@Samantha19 Getting into any college is an accomplishment, and getting into any UC is amazing! Your family should be happy for you no matter where you go. Wherever you do go, doing research, volunteering, joining clubs, etc. can make you more well-rounded than someone graduating from an Ivy or “Public Ivy” school. Your GPA, grades, SAT scores, etc. should not define how successful you are. Whether UCLA or anywhere else, you should be proud of yourself. Completing the UC application in itself is an accomplishment!

In order to pass the time…

Which would you prefer?

A. finding out the admissions release date way in advance (2-3 weeks)
B. finding out the date withing 3-4 days of release
C. finding out the date on the day of release

I personally like C, the ‘rip it off’ method, since I think A & B would stress me out way too much! Which do you prefer?

Way in advance. At least you can file it away. B and C makes you constantly on edge wondering if they’re going to make an announcement. Like UCSD and UCSB roll-out last year. The gnashing of teeth.

Definitely agree with way in advance. I literally check myberkeleyapp every day just hoping a glitch happens and shows my results a little earlier. I’m literally going crazy just waiting around.

I agree with knowing in advance. That way, I can plan things out in how I’ll occupy myself until the date.
I’ve been somewhat successful in keeping my mind off admissions by doing so!
(Though checking this site frequently doesn’t necessarily help :frowning: )
Been prepping to run the LA Marathon the 15th and looking forward to a whole week in Boston for my Spring Break in the beginning of April 8->

Hey guys I am currently at mt.sac and this is my third semester including winter. I was wondering do I need my core classes at the time that I am going to apply.
I currently have like 35 units and 1 core class which is C++, and I am applying as Computer Science.

Its been a real headache with the math that I have to take, Math 180 was canceled this semester.

I will be finished with 2/3 physics, 4/4 Math, 2/2 computer core classes by the end of the spring.
