Major should say pre-econ as always.
It may be an indicator if it changes to all major. But, again we are just speculating as we are not admission officers.
Hello all. When it comes to the personal statements, does anyone know whether they place more emphasis on the first or second prompt when evaluating applicants?
but wouldnt they have changed my major to my alt major if i didn’t qualify for econ?
No, the logical thing they would do is not even bother with your major if you were not accepted. I doubt they would go into your portal and remove your major as an extra step when you have been rejected.
i believe it’s the 1st prompt @i20hndc
@fullload oh ic! thanks
How do you know you were rejected for your primary major?
im just thinking that you’d get rejected from your primary major if they changed yr major to the alt one on your myapplication
The theory (and that’s all it is) is that if your portal changed from your major to your alternate major today, as many did, you were probably accepted into that alternative major. The rest of us, who’s major did not change are still in the dark, because it could either mean we were accepted for that major, or they simply did not change it because we were rejected.
Hope that makes sense. Basically, if nothing has changed in your portal it could mean anything so don’t sweat it.
Do we recieve an email to check status or just keep looking on here to see if anyone got an answer ?
Keep checking your portal. From what I’m hearing, the portal changes first, then you get an email shortly thereafter.
@Kamnnor812 If you are as nutty as the rest of us you’ll probably want to do both!!! I’ll probably have a rotation of checking email, checking portal and checking here. I’m not only excited to see if my daughter got in, but I’ve become fond of the crazies on this site and now I’m cheering them on too! BTW, good luck fullload!!
.
so it seems last year, around 11am it was certain that decisions would be made on april 18. Thanks to this website https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/applicant/notify.htm
hopefully we will know by 11 as well if decisions will be made tomorrow [-O<
If they do send out decisions tomorrow can you guys put your stats Gpa, tap, major, etc… instead of just posting accepted or denied, if its not too much to ask for :x
good luck everyone!
Thanks! Yeah, seriously, I’ve become obsessed with this whole thing. I’m not sure if it’s just fun, or if I’m being totally nuts. I’ve got 5 bookmarks I check incessantly: this forum, my email, the portal, the newsroom, and the decision notification page. Oh, and the UC Facebook pages.
Lol, I need to get a life.
admissions came out around 4-5pm last year!
^ You aren’t the only one @fullload
@zeppelinlover Haha, yes I have been following these threads for 2 years, finally posted. I just want to know already, I’m making my friends and fam nuts… I asked earlier if anyone knew how they look at major gpa’s vs uc course gpa, do you know?
@trnsferstudent I know but the UCLA decision notification website posted an announcement around 11AM that decisions will in fact come out at 5pm on april 18
haha yea im just stating it to the public
