@Sustenance let’s not be mean! I’m just trying to understand this, like everyone else. Obviously I thought my question was sufficient, which is why I posted it. I suggest that you read what you intend to write before posting it, and really think about if what you have to say is necessary.
If you do not understand my question, then maybe YOU should read it again.
this is a forum for speculation (since nobody has concrete evidence so far), which led me to believe that I was free to ask whatever question I wished.
I’m not mad, just want you to know that I did not really appreciate the attitude, is all. We are all trying to find peace through this forum. Best of luck to you
I hate to burst anyone’s bubble but over at UCLA theatre film TV thread the dept is still doing interviews until the end of the month (someone called today). Since I believe UCLA releases all decisions at once, it gives one pause.
@heatherheather Yay someone on the same boat! Which university? If you don’t mind my asking.
@lindyk8 hmm good point!
I believe, though, that they may admit arts majors to the school before admitting them to the specific arts program you know?
Since it requires auditions and such. That’s how it goes at other schools at least!
Good luck to you though, theater at UCLA is a really good program! and competitive lol. I saw a performance of “Next to Normal” at UCLA a few months ago and it was amazing!
And yes definitely trying to find peace. I’ve been staying up until the AM every night trying to compare my stats to past students’ stats. It’s not healthy, and I’m going a little insane, yet I find it weirdly soothing.
@heatherheather. Good point.
Anyone feel free to correct me If I’m wrong, but I believe what they do is that when they’re reviewing you, first they review you for your first choice major. If you’re accepted then they don’t even look at your alternate, but if you’re not accepted for your first choice major, then they start over and review you for that alternate major. The decision you hear back is the final decision because they would have already reviewed you for both majors. @heatherheather
@princessluna You’re correct. TAP students only, and if the alternative major is not impacted.
Hello guys! I have a question Is it required for you to take out loans if you’re going to accept the grants/scholarships ? ( blue and gold for example) Thank you!
^^no
i really hope decisions come out today like everyone is saying out here!
the only reason why i didn’t think so at first was because of this article:
http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/ucla-receives-record-number-of-applications-for-2015
It says transfers will hear by April 30th… Does anyone know anything about this/heard this too?
And also on the decisions site, it says to expect to hear notifications by “late” April, instead of how it said “mid-late April” like the notification timeline page.
I think I’m going insane lol.
@princessluna wow I’ve actually never met anyone in the same boat, that’s awesome!
I attended TCU last year but didn’t like being so far away from home, and ultimately I want to work in California so going to a school in CA would be ideal. especially UCLA which has always been my dream school! So I transferred down to Irvine to go to a CC there that has a good standing with UCI so I could have a sure-fire backup route in case my pipe dream of UCLA does not come true lol.
which private university did you attend?
I found it an extremely difficult change to go from a Private school to a CC. Even from Cali to Texas to Cali lol. Just completely different social aspects. Way harder to make friends at a commuter CC!
Best of luck to you!
@HopeLuck119 CONGRATULATIONS!!!
you found out?? Mine still says “Application received.”
but wow congrats. Neuroscience is insane! GO BRUINSSS!
Curious as to which other schools you applied to?
Thanks for posting!
Hopeluck is pulling our communal leg. They have one post, and they are up trolling at 3 am.
wait, disregard my last post haha. I didn’t notice the “BY April 30th.”
Yeah, definitely going insane.
Princessluna I went to UCD then to Santa Monica College and got into UCSB, UCSC and SDSU for theater.
@Salmanthgr8 I know that it’s pretty much impossible to tell what’s gonna happen to a Comm major, like you said, but do you think TAP would make a difference? I have a 4.0 UC transferable GPA (which might drop slightly after spring is over) Comm Major and I’m also TAP certified. Still finishing 2 prereqs.
As for EC’s, I also interned on a film set, received 2 film festival nominations, PTK, CKI, worked, and then I listed some of the things I did in high school (JV cheer/film program).
I’d really appreciate you opinion! Or anyone else’s opinion if anyone else has some input.
Newsroom updated last year before 11am. The first person to post about it was at 10:55am.

This wait is killing me.
From past years hasn’t it always been that transfer admission decisions have been coursed out over the span of a week at least? I don’t recall everyone getting a response at the same time. I remember this happened with my gf last year.
^^I think that is why they say BY April 30
