Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Oh okay I see! I’m not all that knowledgeable in the field of switching majors. I feel like it would be a pain in the neck but I definitely plan on pursuing to medical school and I feel like a psychobio major is a better major to get into my pre-med classes. Do any of you guys know success stories of a psych major getting into med school? Is it difficult to get into the pre-med classes with a major not in the life sciences?

SHAKING AND CRYING!

CONFIRMED THOUGH HALLELUJAH
but by “letters going out” does that mean that we have to wait for the USPS because I’m NOT here for that lol

NO WAY! CONFIRMED?!?!?!

@tropical9999 being an out of state is a disadvantage too :frowning: that’s why I’m worried, being OOS and such!

Confirmed?!?! Whats the Facebook link?

I’ve been lurking rather than posting but I feel solidarity with my fellow applicants in this thread. Whether we are admitted or not it’s been fun reading about all of you freaking out, which then intensifies my own freak outs, giving support to each other - as a last stand goes its been pretty great. Wish you all luck.

@administered You can be any major and get into medical school. I would think it actually looks better not to be a science major because you would add diversity to the applicant pool. (most people usually apply as a biology major) You just need to take the required pre med classes and do well in them

As much as I want to believe it, is that Facebook even an official UCLA FB? Lol.

@administered your major does not matter for pre-med classes. medical schools just require an sGPA ( certain upper div and core science classes), cGPA (cumulative), and a MCAT score. Not being a life science major is just being considered a “non-Traditional” applicant. I suggest going to SDN forums to see your chances for med school! Best of luck.

The person that posted that on the UCLA fb page is a reliable source. She graduated from UCLA and now works there at the transfer center, so she would know.

So if there being sent out tonight does that mean an online decision will be posted tonight as well?

This wait is killing me…im running out of johnnie walker

@db1394 “acceptance letters will go out this evening” doesn’t necessarily mean an actual LETTER. we are in the digital era, of course it means online.

The link says many students will receive decisions, but does that mean not all decisions will not be given.

can someone please post the link to the Facebook page…

What Heather Posted in the Trabsfer FB page is accurate. She wouldn’t post it, I’d it weren’t fact, rather rhan rumor.
