Fall 2016 Transfer Thread - Cornell University

What are your plans if this doesn’t work guys?? Remain at university? Transfer to local/state university? I spent all night looking for schools that take transfer applications for the spring and the odds are not pretty.

Remain

Remain. I’m not transferring for the sake of transferring.

I find this thread too late. I am applying for CAS too (history major). I am applying from a university outside of the US so certainly I am a non-GT. Haven’t heard of any notifications yet :frowning:

@hp2trnsfr I hope I would hear back by the end of next week. I am so exciting that the decision of UCLA would be out tomorrow

Rejected College of Engineering, they also told me official decisions will be emailed some time next week so I assume next week is going to be rejection week for COE transfers.

@kkimels what were your stats? When was your app completed? Also which major did you apply to?

Electrical Engineering/Computer I completed my application fully on January 28th, submitted my midterm on 3/15.

Currently at Northeastern University

Race: Korean
GPA : 3.9 (with midterm report)
ACT: 33

@kkimels did you call to get the decision?

No I emailed the transfer coordinator that I needed my decision now because I wanted to know whether or not I should matriculate in summer classes at my current university.

“Your transfer application file for Cornell Engineering had already been reviewed by our admissions committee. You will likely receive your official admissions decision next week and I regret to inform you that we will not be offering you admission to Cornell Engineering. I wanted to be up front about this as I know that you may have other options that you are weighing”

What were your ECs @kkimels?

@kkimels Don’t be harsh on yourself~

Does anyone think CALS notification may happen by the end of the week? Don’t want to wait any longer

@transfer3353254 No likely because decisions normally come out on Tuesdays only

I honestly don’t even want to hear back at this point because it seems like rejections will be rolling out

I’m assuming I got rejected but thankfully got into Michigan so I’m trying to proceed with them and all their deadlines, frustration :frowning:

ughhh if I email/call them I need the decision sooner, will it lower my chances/or somehow affect badly?

Hi, guys. I applied for Government major as a junior transfer student. I’m still waiting for the decision. Is there anyone who got the admission from CAS except GT students?

@KennyRhee I emailed them and they said that decisions from CAS will be out in the next few weeks. I don’t think anyone besides the GTs has heard from CAS so far

lmao i dont wnat to hear my decision either because tbh i’ve already established so many positions in clubs and friends at my current university that i wouldn’t mind if i didnt get in

(not going to lie tho, would still go if I did get in but i’m not banking on that idea)
