Fall 2016 Transfer Thread - Cornell University

I submitted my course descriptions.

@Luluo Don’t worry about it. If they want you they won’t care if the courses are transferable; they will just ask you to take them again unfortunately if they are not. I am pretty sure it won’t affect your application. The worst that can happen is that they won’t take all of them. And don’t worry about the language thing, they will figure it out because that is what they are trained to do. I’m certain you aren’t the first applicant from your home country so they’ve probably seen some classes like that before. They review international applicants all the time so they know very well what it entails. :).

@Luluoo Yes they asked for four classes, all of which were major courses

@keurimja Thank you for your response. Fingers crossed for both of us :slight_smile:

@Luluoo Best of luck!!

Hey guys, quick question. I asked for my app to be expedited, and I was told that I would receive a call tomorrow; however, I checked this site: https://transeval.cals.cornell.edu/ and the page says that “Welcome XX… If you have any questions regarding the major you were accepted to, please contact CALS Admissions”. Does this mean I was accepted? I tried logging into this site last week, and all that came up was something like “our records show you as not an admitted student”

Congrats @KoshJim. That sounds like you got in!

Hey guys, if you are accepted for transfer, here is a Facebook group that you can use to search for roommates!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1109710809070177/

(for some reason it’s bleeping it out, but those *s should say facebook!)

We can ask for our apps to be expedited? Wow I know nothing.
Congrats @KoshJim seems like you’re in!!! :slight_smile:

Thanks guys! TBH, I probably won’t accept the offer because I really want to study polysci and international relations - changing from premed. It’s not possible to internally transfer or double major across colleges right?

@KoshJim as far as I know your major as an applicant can be internally changed if you want once you are admitted. I don’t think this is a problem at all :slight_smile:

@blackwidow22 haha thanks for the positive vibes! but i’m only able to change majors within the school to which I was accepted (CALS) right? polysci is in the arts and sciences :confused:

@KoshJim You can transfer internally to Arts, although you’ll need to write an essay and get a letter of rec. However, my impression is that it’s not difficult to get accepted if you’re doing this internally.

@KoshJim you should be able to specially if you applied as sophomore transfer. It is possible but sometimes it becomes harder as the college wants to keep the 4-year graduation rate. At least this is what the Georgetown advisor I was talking to explained to me. Cornell is a completely different school though! I would call the college and ask without identifying yourself as an applicant of giving them any case specifi info. Good luck!

@tiramisu2 the link doesn’t load!!

@socoutmia Replace the stars with “facebook”.

@tiramisu2 I still can’t access it even with replacing the stars with Facebook :frowning:

@tiramisu2 I’m just dumb. Sorry, I got it.

I had emailed ILR for something and they responded by saying all remaining ILR decisions will be released on Tuesday.

@peenutz I wonder if they’ll include a lot of the CAS decisions…lol.

@peenutz Did they just say that?? all remaining ILR applicants? btw thanks for sharing
