Fall 2016 Transfer Thread - Cornell University

and @orangebanana I have no idea. I really like West but I heard Collegetown is good (Then again it may be too far away from my classes lol)

@HereToTransferr nice! Where do you go now? Are you committing?

I also got my FA today and it was really good. Still have no idea where I should enroll though.

@soscoutmia Ah sorry i dont want to say for privacy reasons sorry  but Im 99% sure I"m committing!

@HereToTransferr lol ok

Wait, if financial aid came out for some already, what is going to happen to the people who haven’t yet received a decision? Does that mean financial aid opportunities are less? :frowning:

@Atuin Unrelated to your post…but discworld is awesome

@Artixreed financial aid is not related to admissions unless you’re international. You’ll receive your award after admissions regardless on when that is and within 30 days you’ll have to either accept or decline. You’ll be okay. I know is hard! The wait felt forever but like many people had said it before, the fact that you even applied says a lot about your potential to succeed!

@socoutmia Thanks, that made me feel a lot better! I just had a misunderstanding. I believe they have received everything for my financial aid so I think I’ll be fine!

did anyone else get an email saying that you weren’t accepted for your primary major but can be considered for your alternate majors? I never received a legit rejection from my primary major, but i got an email from the director of admissions asking me if i would consider an alternate major rather than getting rejected. Or, has anyone heard of this happening? is it a good thing, bad thing? any help is appreciated.

@kyleparker406 One student here got an email like but for the biological science major in CALS (basically the same exact major)

Someone else who applied to CAS econ also got moved to CHE PAM in the past
You’re basically most likely to be accepted as that second major as not a lot of people get that option.

Hey! I’ve been following this thread but never commented. I still haven’t received an email with pin, or my decision yet. I applied for cals biometry and statistics. Should i bother to keep waiting or is it pretty much going to be a rejection? I just feel like all cals have gotten their decision by now and I received an email April 19th that they had started receiving my application then… but still no response right now… any advice?

@lk1626 CALS here haven’t got my decision yet. But I called CALS this Monday, she said ghe decision’s either on the Tuesday that has just passed or this coming Tuesday.

SHA - Rejected. Saw it coming, so I’m okay but good luck to anyone else still waiting!

@TransferBk24 you received the pin?? I mailed the SHA and they told me my decision will come out next tuesday May 24th

Was anyone else here invited to join the cornelltransfer.com website? It’s interesting, none of the other schools I was accepted to had a whole website for transfer students.

No i didn’t get a pin ,just an email stating that I haven’t been accepted @Ram30823

Hey! I got an email but from CALS instead if CAS which is where I first applied. I also don’t have to change majors since the Biology major in both colleges is the same. The email said they could review my application ‘just in case I wasn’t accepted into CAS’ but I’m assuming that had happened already. I think it’s a good thing tho, at least they are giving you a second chance. So if the alternating major is of your interest, go for it! @kyleparker406

@TransferBk24 you asked first to SHA or they contact you first.

Sorry for asking too much when you are disappointed.

I emailed them directly that I needed an answer because I had other deposits to make if I didn’t get in then I received that email today & it’s okay. Yes, I’m disappointed a little but it’s okay I still made a great university so I don’t mind if it’s not Ivy League. Less debt to pay off haha (: Goodluck though! @Ram30823
