Looking at past years’ transfer threads makes it seem like this has been an absolute nightmare every single year for transfers. I’m really hoping they get things together for this year - I would really prefer not to have to deposit at another university while waiting for GW’s decision…
They just tweeted that the first transfer decisions are live in the activity center. Everyone check your portal, the first round is out.
Also confirmed that the next release of decisions (for those who didn’t receive anything this round) will be by the end of April.
For anyone who did or didn’t receive a decision here - please post your application submission date!
I was accepted to the Elliot School of International Affairs! Application was complete on Feb 8.
WHAT THE HELL. WE COMPLETED THE APP FEBRUARY 3RD.
Congratulations by the way! @IBer2014
I was also accepted to the Elliot School!! I submitted my application on Feb. 27th. They might be working on one school at a time.
I got into the Columbian School of Arts and Sciences. My application was submitted late February. It seems the common thread between all of these is that they are acceptances. Could be dreadfully wrong, though. Good luck everyone it’s worth the wait!
@liam16 They had said earlier on that no rejections would be released in the first wave of decisions. Publicly they have said that decisions will be released based on when applications were submitted, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
SO is attempting transfer from a higher ranked 4 year institution, 3.5 cumulative after 2 years, 2200 SAT’s, just hoping that the next round comes through on time.
Did anyone who found out today get rejected? Its a bit scary thinking those who didnt hear back yet will have to wait 3 weeks just to hear they werent accepted.
Anyone rejected at this point?
@grnmnts @dingko They said publicly that NO rejections would be sent out in the first wave, only acceptances.
Where did they say that @2011SatinSTI about the rejections?
@flanlaw Someone earlier in this thread called and was told that the first release was only going to be acceptances. If GWU is using the same process as Vanderbilt and similar schools, then they accepted the candidates they were 100% sure about in this round. They’ll see who submits enrollment deposits over the next two weeks to judge available space in this transfer class before sending out the remaining decisions.
Also for those who are still waiting, I spoke with my regional rep earlier and was told that ALL decisions will be out by the end of the month. Financial aid will be issued with decisions or shortly thereafter if you completed FAFSA and CSS on time.
@2011SatinSTI Thanks for all that information! That process makes sense to me. At least we will know by the end of the month
Late to the thread.
Accepted to the Columbian School of Arts and Sciences!
Application submitted on Mach 1st (literally a few minutes before midnight).
Didn’t know decisions were out yet, received mine today.
Good luck everyone!
Accepted to Columbian School of Arts and Science! I submitted my application on Feb 29th. I didnt know that the decisions were out, I was just randomly checking the portal out and found out that I was accepted today.
Best of luck to you all!
School of Business!!! (I submitted my application on Feb 15th.)
If you don’t mind me asking, what was your GPA to get into Elliot School of International Affairs?
@corbs95 mine was a 3.3, as there was one class in particular that tanked my GPA. Prior to taking that class, I had a 3.5 or higher for all previous semesters.
