FALL 2016 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@SDSU84 I’m guessing so. I think if we haven’t heard back, we probably haven’t gotten it.

Hey @Edirol what is the transfer summer program? Is that any different from just taking regular summer classes?

@CCstudent12345

You have to pay for summer courses, unless you apply for summer aid (which is not too late for transfers; the sooner you get the application for summer aid in, the faster it will get processed for you), with TSP, you are given housing (assigned by the university) and courses are free. I am not sure if you have access to the dining halls, but more than likely you will have that privilege.

I’m trying to figure out if I can do the TSP without housing (I cannot take part in that). I don’t anticipate not being able to acclimate to UCLA so if I can’t do it, I won’t stress about it.

@Cheolf we haven’t talked before but I just read what you were saying about the UCLA vs Cal choices. I think you should really trust your gut, and if Berkeley feels more “right” to you, you should absolutely follow that. Your undergrad is a chance you only get once really and living away from home is a big step that will help you grow! Rhetoric at Berkeley sounds amazing. I’m going to study Philosophy at UCLA now, but before was concerned about getting into Cal because I wanted go away from home, but knew it would be really hard to go away from my girlfriend as well and everything I know. I didn’t get into Cal and the choice was made for me, which is what I had been silently hoping for, and I can’t wait to get started in the fall in a new environment to learn from. Follow your heart and enjoy every day of wherever you go! Our two years will slip away too quickly.

guys I’m in a dilemma. I am taking a Javascript course rn (2 units, non UC transferable), and its likely that i might get a B or a C in it. Do you think it will affect my UCLA acceptance? I’m so so scared right now. Im an anthro BA, current gpa through spring is 3.71.

Thank you so much guys!!

@UCLABruin96 what does your admission contract say?

@happy2help here it is:
Maintain the gpa, complete the courses and #units as reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates. You must be in good standing at your last institution of attendance. Notify our office immediately of any withdrawals, incomplete grades, drop in academic performance, or other changes to your class schedule.

@uclabruin96 I dont think 1 C is going to rescind you. ESPCIALLY if its a nontransferable course.

@Happy2Help omg thank you so so much!!! I’ve been so anxiousss

@boxlover Yes thank you I was thinking that too (it being non -uc transferable) so I hope I’ll be fine!! Thank you so much :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

@uclabruin96 no prob mate! see ya in the fall :wink:

@boxlover yess I hope we will!!

@uclabruin96
If it’s nontransferable, I guarantee you that UCLA won’t care about you getting a “C” in it. Trust me on that one.

I usually don’t pick up the call that I don’t recognize, and UCLA actually called me 5 times through out the week that I eventually have to answer the call. Honestly though, I did not expect them make a call and congratulate me. The guy ask me whether I’d SIR, and also answered some of my concerns. Pretty good experience though, I feel sorry that they had to call me during weekend.

@Cayton oh i see, thank you, I’ll stop worrying about that and focus more on smthg else. Thank you :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

Any one class you guys recommend I take over the summer? Im an english major but I would not mind taking a class outside my major since it is the summer.

@Panorama14 So you decided on UCLA! Congrats!

yeah hahah @goldencub I am actually going to SIR right now !

I just submitted the alumni scholarship application. :-SS

Does anybody know when we’ll find out if we got it or not?
