Man, everyone was fast. I got in 204. I also forgot to check the partial waiver box, but luckily the office was so nice to opt in that option for me and assured me that the dates did not matter for class registration.
I just signed up for 206 and also the pre-session! I will be staying with UCLA’s lodging accommodations! Anyone else signed up for the same session?
Btw, anyone know when UCLA will release their Housing Offer for new students?
When and how do we pay the balance for orientation?
“Your New Student Orientation session fees will be billed to your UCLA Billing Statement. There is no payment necessary when you sign-up.
Billing for New Student Orientation will be done according to the following schedule:
All July sessions (201-203) will be billed in early August, with payment due in September.
All August sessions (204-207) will be billed in September, with payment due in October.
All September sessions (208) will be billed in mid-September, with payment due in October.
Payments will be only accepted through the UCLA Billing Statement. Your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) fee of $100 does not cover Orientation fees.
Failure to pay your Orientation fees by the billing deadlines will result in a $20 per month Student Accounting late charge and will result in a hold on your records.”
So I just registered for a new student orientation session Mid August, and it says thats when they will have you sign up for classes then, however is anyone sure that thats what they mean. Usually schools have you register for classes way earlier or all the hard to fill ones are full. Can anyone tell me if Im wrong here? Just want to make sure Im not screwing myself.
@SBCCstudent123
See http://www.newstudents.ucla.edu/transferstudents.htm#enrollment for more information on this.
Basically, for courses that are in high demand, UCLA has made it so that students at all orientation sessions have the same chance of getting in those courses.
(many major courses and some general education courses are included in this group of courses)
@wonder77 that was really helpful Thank you, and just to clarify should i enroll in any courses now before my orientation session, or wait until orientation where I can confer with a counselor about which classes are best suited for my major. Like should I make an educated guess and then drop what I don’t need or is there no point.
@SBCCstudent123 You can look at your department’s website for information on your major requirements. (try looking here http://www.ucla.edu/academics/departments-and-programs)
You can enroll in some courses if you want to take some during summer (you cannot enroll in fall 2016 courses until orientation).
The searchable schedule of classes is at this link if you want to take a look: https://sa.ucla.edu/ro/public/soc/
I logged into UCLA Housing, and saw “Room Reservation Details” listed below my application status, is that my confirmed room?
@Sumner It may or may not be (I don’t know). UCLA is supposed to send us an email about housing soon (probably later this week).
Mine says De Never, Triple.
Granted it was my first choice but I hope I got into the Transfer LLC.
I got a plaza triple/private bathroom in De Neve.
De Neve Triple Plaza … Can anyone tell me the prons and cons to my room!? Thank you !
I got DN Deluxe Triple. Do anyone know whether De Neve Plaza and De Neve Deluxe is in the same building?
How did you guys get your housing assignments already? Where are they posted?
@foreverwmt If you go to the housing application and click on application status, you can see it

Does anyone know when we find out about our roommate
@GirlPower1 I believe we are assigned our roommates in August.
@GirlPower1 I think we find out about our roommate in late August.
(last year it was August 27 - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1647040-fall-2015-ucla-transfer-students-p379.html )
oops accidentally double-posted, I didn’t see that my post went to the next page.
