And yes, the “big” UC campuses are giving away 1/3 or more of freshman spots to OOS and international applicants. The cap per the article referenced by @GumbyMom is sort of good news, but for this year’s senior class, too little and too late. Tricky that the UCs proposed an overall cap of 20%, which is very close to what they are doing now to the detriment of our kids. It is the freshman admissions that are the problem and that number is about 35% at the most desirable campuses.
Back on topic, CPP rejected a lot of qualified California kids this year because of the trickle-down effect from the UC debacle.
