FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@“osazuwa ogbeide” LOL join the club omg i checked my portal just in case right after i saw their post

Wow no regents invites sent out yet?

I was wondering the same thing about regents. I got the invitation for uci so far but I haven’t heard about ucsd, ucla or Berkeley releasing regents invitations even though on previous threads it seems like some people got regents invites to ucla before even getting their acceptances?

things have changed this year… sheesh

@lsierra77 – Last year a bunch of people were invited to regents before getting their acceptance. Usually it’s understood that if you get regents before decisions, you’re pretty much going to be accepted. But then again, there were a few who were invited to regents but didn’t get accepted. A total mind***.

Wow UCLA lol. I’ll be taking my chem exam while everyone sees if they got in or not.

I just visited UCLA’s twitter and a handful of people were tweeting them like yooooo when are you releasing decisions and I’m already like 4/21 at 5 PM flashbacks

@ronniec95 can I ask which major your friend was?

@TransfertoUCLA Cognitive science!

Reeally nervous about Wednesday :frowning: In the meantime, anyone care to chance me?
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.94
Pre-req: All completed
Recommended classes outside prereq: partially finished
EC: not a lot, work full time 40+ hr, also high school outreach tutor at low income schools (math, science)
Essays: i think they are decent. Explained why i work full time (to support the family financially). Low income first gen myself.

So I updated my TAU in late February, as I added a course for this spring I realized was a major prereq, but I didn’t contact any schools directly. Do you think that UCLA saw them, or should I contact them now to confirm?

@UCLAorUCBTRNSFR It doesn’t hurt to call and check but just remember that they do have a policy on not being allowed to update you on your personal application and that the decisions have most likely already been made. They might be able to tell you though so I would go ahead and call.

@UCLAorUCBTRNSFR I contacted UCLA about an extra course I added to fulfill requirements and they wrote back that my addition was noted. They encouraged me to contact each school individually to give them my update. UCSD also confirmed they received my addition. I used the contact information in my portal for each school. If you don’t get in, you can use the course addition in your appeal.

@UCLAorUCBTRNSFR During the admission process, UCLA is not contacting your college to see what you’re taking. What they’re going off of for spring classes is the planned coursework you reported in the TAU.

I needed to drop a class that I reported in my planned coursework for spring 2017. From what they explained to me, there was a way to contact UCLA and report the change, but the deadline was around a week ago. Now, you need to wait until admissions are released. After, you contact your admission officer through your portal and let them know about the change. But from what I understood, you seem to be saying that you turned in your application reporting insufficient coursework, when in actuality you’re currently completing all the required prerequisites. I would contact UCLA directly and explain the situation because you don’t want to be denied for this.

Hey guys, how likely do you think it will be to get regent scholarship…having a 3.93 GPA? Got one B during my first semester…Finished every major class and all GEs with As.
biochemistry major

Did you get it for any other schools? I’m a biology major with a 4.0 and didnt get it for UCI. How does it work? Do we have to apply separately for it?

Still checked all day today even though I knew it wouldn’t be there… :((

Yeah I was wondering about regents as well. It’s annoying that everything is changed this year…thought I would know what to expect with this process but nope UCLA throws us a new curve ball our way every few days it seems like

@orlyx6 There is a seperate application for it here: https://sa.ucla.edu/fao/regentsscholarship But you have to be invited for it. Not sure about the other campuses, as I only applied to UCLA.

@anxious65 They told you the dead like was a week ago? Omgeez that makes me so happy. Do you know the date they stop considering updates?
