We ain’t freshmen no more. It’s really hard to change majors as a transfer, especially to one as impacted as Psychology. You might as well try talking to a counselor tho.
Yeah you cant and also you are taking away other sociology major’ applicant’s spot if you originally planned to change the major 
@doihaveashot2016 really? UCSB let me change from socio to psych and they changed it almost immediately?
@iwanttransfer I didn’t know I was going to change my major until last semester after I applied.
is it possible to double major as a transfer or is that unrealistic? (edit: i’ll probably just do a minor regardless of where i go but had i gotten in as a freshman, i’d been planning on doing a double major siiiigh)
@5HisLife I got in for Poltical Science as my primary for UCSB, but Soc as my secondary… Same for UCLA. How do I change it for UCSB?
Oh really? Well, maybe I’m wrong! I’m just going off of what I’ve heard. It may be easier at a tier 2. Might as well give it a shot at UCLA. Good luck 
@skyliners I don’t see why not? I know for Irvine for my major, I only need to take a couple for classes to finish both majors’ requirements. But if it’s something like you need to take 10 extra classes to meet their requirements and you don’t want to stay too long, then I would advice not too. But if you don’t mind, then go for it!

@Bastig17 okay so when you go to your portal, then something that says “Major Changes” on the top. If you click on that, it tells you what to do. Basically, they give you an email and you just email them saying what you want to change to, what major youre transferring from, and a list of your fall grades. I only talked a little bit about why I think I should be able to change. I said something along the lines of “I have already completed most of the pre reqs” or something like that. They don’t email back. They just changed my major on my portal about 5 days after I emailed them. Hope that helps! Good luck!
@doihaveashot2016 yeah I have either from that it is easy/hard to change from different people so I get why you would think it’s hard to. I’m not completely sure but I’m hoping. My friends have said that it is really easy to change the major, but then again, they are trying to convince me to choose UCLA over Irvine if I get in lmaooo

Hi, everyone! Good luck today! I applied with a 3.49 in cognitive science so I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get in. But, I hope you all get in or get into your first choice!

Really nervous for today. Berkeley is my #1 but I would love to attend UCLA. I actually applied in accident - when I filled out the app I checkmarked UCLA without wanting to apply - but after reading this thread for so long and being so anxious about decisions I really would want to go now. I’m a political science major with a 4.0 so hopefully that’s good but you never know.
Are you all expecting to be notified by e-mail or are you just logging into the portal?
