FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

I just had my spring break! KEEP YOURSELF BUSY! learn from my mistake! if you don’t stay busy, you’ll drive yourself crazy! Try going places where you can’t use your phone/computer. (like the movies, on a hike, etc.)

my anxiety has never been higher lol, im so so so so nervous. this is literally my dream school. which uc’s decisions come out first btw?

Guys don’t get C’s… Grad schools and future employers ask for these grades

@lexluther96 Lol, not sure if you’re kidding, but employers usually don’t ask about grades/GPA. Grad school, yes. Source: professional experience and interviewing people to hire

@jae2017 Hmm all of my friends who recently graduated said theirs were requested, especially those applying for internships and those going into med related fields. One said that a minimum GPA of like 3.2 was required to just apply for a job

@lexluther96 Same. I guess it depends what kind of job you’re applying for, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Keep those grades up people (myself included)!

@MiniGrace11 that’s a good idea…I feel like i’m losing my mind already…
who else has been dreaming of getting into ucla since high school?? :-S can’t believe this is finally going to be over soon

I remember taking a campus tour of UCLA when I was in 7th grade and being in awe at all the students I saw walking by. I thought that only the best of the best attended the school, and I believed I would never be cut out for it. Several years later, here I am finding advice and comfort from other highly anxious students on a college forum. I can’t believe it’s only 10 days until decisions are out! It’s so easy to get swept into the anticipation, but it really helps to distract yourself by being productive! Personally for me, work and school keep me busy.

I live in LA and I have friends and a job here so I kinda desperately want to get in if only so I don’t have to move.
I am also in my late 20’s and the whole “I’m going to move to a new city and restart my life!” thing is a lot less cute when you’re older

@rainbubble it’s literally the first thing I think of when I wake up in the morning. I just need to know before I go crazy. Is it just me or are the days going by slower? I’m pretty sure any other week it would have been Friday by now. When assignments are due I can’t seem to find the time. Now I sleep and wake up and it’s still the same day! :-w

Yup UCLA has always been my dream school but nevertheless I’ll be happy attending UCB or UCSD. Even UCSB or UCD.

Guys, it’s almost there. so nervous.

I have a question. Please let me be clear on it !
In this last Spring quarter, I am taking 2 major required course and 1 non-major req course.
The non-major req course is for ucb and ucd.
As my 1st priority is ucla, I wanna drop that course if I get admitted on April 21st. I wonder if I am allowed to do so and I should report to ucla as soon as I drop it.
If so, might it impact on my admission negatively, like cancelling the admission…?

**I am 90% sure that I will get in only based on stats, such as gpa, admitted rate, ecs, … (In case you need this info).

Thank you in advance. Good luck to you all.

anyone from Pasadena CIty College?

@JaketheSnake13 me!

any body majoring in African American studies here know if the average transfer gpa is high for installer student

I wonder what the transfer acceptance rate is for UCLA CCCP Scholars! Anybody know? The nerves are killing me. ucla <333

@4UCBClay Honestly, at this point (10 days till decision release), college confidential is not going to help you. I would talk with your counselor and MAKE SURE it would be okay rather than listen to one of us and potentially screw up your chances. If I were in your position though, I would keep your grades up in that class and then AFTER you’ve been accepted to UCLA then call and ask if it’s ok to drop. Idk when your drop date is, but just in case they say no you want to have a good grade in the course.

@“osazuwa ogbeide” You’re looking at a range of 3.00 to 3.50 for the mid 50% of students, what was your GPA by the TAU deadline?
