FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@FaithGraceUC I got the same thing you need the nine digit id code to access the real account I have a cousin who attended ucla I see if I can use here number to see what happens if she willing to use let me

Yeah man-- I’m in my late 20’s going back to school, you gotta let life unfold as it does

haha your cousins ID won’t help because it’s not linked to your Application number

@FaithGraceUC true I just wait till Friday hopefully the major African American studies this year was not to impacted. then my chances will seem good

I don’t think it was-- usually impacted majors are Film and Buisiness Econ and stuff like that
I’m History which has like a 40 percent admit rate for transfers (wohoo?)

@FaithGraceUC what your gpa for history I looked at some tread from fall 2014 and fall 2015 who were admitted into ucla with a 3.3 -3.5 ash into ucla with history

@“osazuwa ogbeide” Your major has hovered at or above a 50% acceptance rate for the past three years so I don’t think you have to worry about that; what I’ve found in general is that most majors have a pretty consistent admit rate throughout the past few years

I’ve successfully made an account on myUCLA using my ID I got when I asked an admissions question a few months ago. There aren’t many options there, and most of the important stuff is closed such as financial aid awards. It does allow me to enroll in summer classes though. I’m not sure if they let anyone into summer classes, and I’m not sure what this would mean admissions wise.

@mightyMETA I try not to worry at the same time not get my hopes up. question does ucla not consider your major when applying out to they just group all people in letter and sciences into one pool when deciding

@“osazuwa ogbeide” No, you’re only competing against the other people applying for your specific major

I have a 3.84 GPA but not much in EC cause like… I have a job, ya know.

@doublek20 that interesting it alllows you to enroll for summer what your gpa if you dont mid mentioning

It’s a 3.7, which is on the lower side for aerospace engineering. It kinda threw me off because I don’t really think I’m going to get in unless my EC’s save me.

@doublek20 could you login your bruin bill under the financial and jobs

@doublek20 Interesting that this works, I’d love to see if other people have this option or not. I’d check if I was ever prompted to create a myUCLA login.

What is everyone else doing to cope with this wait? Working out, drinking, and keeping busy only does so much, this is by far the biggest gamble I've ever made in my life, as I only applied to UCLA. I figured if I applied anywhere else, and I went there instead, I'd spent my entire life wondering what it would have been like if I went to UCLA instead, so I didn't even want the option. Worst case scenario, I'll apply again next year, but alongside several other schools, and lay that dream to rest. Too early to give up now though. Westwood has a special place in my heart.

I've convinced myself I'm not going to get in, so I can cope with another year of CC, and to be pleasantly surprised. Either way, come 5pm this friday, I'll be checking on the side of a freeway, and after the results come in, pedal down in frustration or celebration.

3.9 econ major, so it's about 50/50 anyways.

@double20 your gpa is high im at 3.15but the indication of enrolling in summer classes is a good sign for you

@kkus2013 yeah I got into bruin bill as well

@“osazuwa ogbeide” I sure hope so. Unfortunately the admitted gpa range for my major was 3.84-3.94 with a 13% acceptance rate. So definitely not the best odds for me just based on gpa, but maybe this is a hole in their system and I pulled it off. I suppose we’ll find out on Friday.

@doublek20 what do you mean enroll for summer? like did u do find a class and enroll and it showed you all of those boxes you had to check?

@juliamarie15 yeah
