Banana. Although mint sounds nice.

Yeah, I live in the Mission Viejo/Lake Forest part of OC and any drive to LA takes me a solid 2 hours to reach my friend’s house in North Hollywood. Of course, that’s a little farther than either USC or UCLA, but if I’m fortunate enough to get accepted, I’ll be moving to LA. There’s no amount of money you could pay me to commute from south Orange County to Los Angeles daily. My sanity is far too precious for that! LOL
@chocstraw what they told us last year at orientation was a little different. We were told that our applications end up in the hands of two different readers, and both must say yes for you to be admitted.
You’re pretty accurate about the sob story stuff, from what I’ve heard. They prefer you show something learned from your experiences.
Yeah-- the problem with sob stories is that almost no one gets through their life without some form of tragedy— but not everyone responds well or survives/learns from it. Learning and growing from tragedy is what makes you unique, not suffering the tragedy itself because everyone does that at some point
Its already super crazy to drive from Garden Grove area to LA downtown, I cant imagine how itd be driving from mission viejo in traffic hours.
It’s terrifying to know that my future is in the hands of 2 people who will read my app in less than 10 minutes :-S
ucla truly killed me with these added days i was so looking forward to tomorrow but at the same time my hopes weren’t to up knowing that I am at 3.17 majoring at African american studies if admitetd to ucla compared with eveyone here who has 3.5-3.9. I am hoping my extracurricular and my job experience that i do currently do as a uc Davis student as well as working retail during summer will help me compared to when i applied fall 2015 and i didn’t have these things. i seen a guy from 2013 period who was accepted with a 3.1 same major without tap
Hey, I’m also trying to transfer from UC Davis! Im doing chemical engineering though and Im super nervous since I have a 3.75 and am missing the second English course (had to be upper division to get credit at Davis).
@osazuwa ogbeide Don’t loose hope! GPA isn’t everything. What matters is what YOU bring into the table.
@LesKnope It’s crazy when you think about it!! So much time, heart, and soul is poured into these apps and they could either totally see it or totally trash it.
Speaking of which, does anyone know exactly what major you need to have to become part of a school’s admissions department? Specifically to be an application reader. Just wondering. :-?
@hunter097 so cool what year are you at uc davis
@“osazuwa ogbeide” second year
So in less than 10 minutes they decide if you have the correct amount of units? It just doesn’t make sense.
Cookie Dough @Orangered123
I grew up in OC but now I live in Long Beach. I drive to Mission viejo for school because thats where I’m getting my associates. Its brutal
