FALL 2018 UCI Irvine Official Transfer Thread

IGETC certification is due by July 15. Transcripts are due July 1.

@finallyitransfer I submitted my college transcripts online, but my high school one in person

Does anyone know if financial aid covers transfer edge courses?
Is it worth the cost?

So i sent in an appeal on like the 20th or something and they still haven’t reviewed mine… Anyone else’s appeal still pending?

@DDerrick i sent in my appeal on the 16th. got the appeal pending notice 5/29. at this rate, I don’t expect my appeal decision to come out until mid june

hey guys I submitted my official college transcript to UCI, and under the transcript status of the Myadmission page, it said: “Spring 2018 Received.” Does that mean they have received my full college transcripts?

Got Camino Del sol /: I wanted vista Del campo Norte

Any chance of a transfer waitlist acceptee getting something in housing? I’m worried because it’s really late now

so UC Berkeley and UCSD released some of their transfer waitlist decisions already, what’s up with UCI :expressionless:

hi everyone,
I started a subreddit titled r/BigWestBasketball where we talk about news surrounding basketball in the conference. If you want to talk basketball with other fans of the big west come check it out!

HI jensenforthree,
I’m also majoring in sociology and was going to apply to UCI but now I’m second guessing it just because I found out that I have to take a calculus class PLUS 2 other pre req math classes in order to even take calculus!! So 3 extra classes that I don’t think i’m willing to since math is definitely not my strongest suit. ANWAYS… my question to you is did you have to take a calculus class to transfer to UCI form a community college? I’m only asking this because I read on a couple post that I don’t even have to take it to transfer. (btw I did take a stats class already)
Please let me know, thx (:

@crysttt3 I didn’t get in that year with a 3.5 for CS, but once I tagged I got in. I had junior/senior standing with every possible course given at a community college (over 90 units and only needing 4 quarters left to graduate after transfer). Also was on the deans list 2x, many extra curriculars, and had projects on the side. I still didn’t get in. UCI is very much about GPA. I wasn’t even considered on the waitlist. Was rejected from Irvine and SD. I got in for Riverside for BA in CS, but thats it. Also, I got into all the Cal States very very easily (almost instantly). All other private universities with average admission gpa 3.4+ have called me to apply (somehow they were easy admission too, I think the brochure was meant to target highschool gpa even though the brochure was given at a community college).
