hey, so we still have no heard back yet. We sent in updates quarter grades but wondering why they are making us wait to long. I emailed them a couple times with some responses and I asked them about if they got my updates scores, they said it will he transferred to doc department and have not heard back. Should I call them or email them again? His status says this… do you know what it means? Waitlist or just reviewing it again?
“Your application has undergone an initial review and is with the Admissions Committee for further evaluation. A decision may be delayed as we assess the strength of this year’s applicant pool.
To allow us to make a more immediate decision, if you have not recently submitted updated academic credentials to improve your competitiveness within the applicant pool (e.g. SAT or ACT scores, updated semester grades, etc.), please submit those credentials as soon as possible.
*Please note: An admission decision can be made without dual enrollment coursework currently in progress. Also, AP, IB, AICE, and CLEP scores are required to be submitted prior to enrollment, but will not delay your admission decision.
Disclaimer: This is your current status. Your status is subject to change at any time depending upon the timing and receipt of new information and further review by the Admissions Committee.”
Can someone help me out?
Appreciate it.
Hey I applied to UCF on October 18th OOS and have still not heard back. My status looks similar to the one above but instead mine says:
"Your application has undergone an initial review and is currently deferred for further evaluation of your international secondary school academic documentation. To allow us to make a more immediate decision, if you have not recently submitted updated academic documents, please submit those as soon as possible.
All official academic credentials must be mailed by your secondary school, ministry of education, or examination board in a sealed envelope directly to: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions P.O. Box 160111, Orlando, FL 32816-0111 or by courier service to: 12585 Gemini Blvd S., Orlando, FL 32816.
Please note: all documents received by UCF become the property of the university and will not be returned to the applicant or sent to a third party.
Disclaimer: This is your current status. Your status is subject to change at any time depending upon the timing and receipt of new information and further review by the Admissions Committee."
I have no idea. They updated my page today to say:
"If required documents (transcripts, test scores, etc.) have been submitted, your application is currently being reviewed by our admission committee for the Fall 2020 term.
**NOTE: AP, IB, AICE, and CLEP scores are required prior to enrollment but will not delay your admission decision.
If you are currently dual enrolled at a community college, college or university and have completed some course work, you should submit an official transcript showing that work. However, an admission decision can be made without in-progress dual enrollment coursework.
Please note that if you have submitted an application after the published deadline, your application may be processed for the next available term. We cannot guarantee an admission decision for applicants who complete their file after the published deadline.
Please check back here for updates to your admission status."
When we called them yesterday the only thing they told us was that we could hear back any time between now and May 1st. She said the more competitive the student, the more likely they are to hear back sooner ?
I’m guessing there waiting to see for the higher students since UF comes out like feb 15th there gonna see if there higher students accept or not. Since uf comes out then if some of them get in there they will prob decline here and that will open up more spots
@Rosen1001 , not a bad theory; but do you think many kids bother declining their admission offers to other schools when they acccept elsewhere? My guess is that a lot of kids leave their offers in and wait for potential merit awards or merit increases, then accept closer to the May 1st deadline unless they are 100% certain.
But idk bc some kids may want to make it official and enroll/send deposits to their top choice. I guess it goes to show that students should decline admissions offers they know they won’t accept in case it frees up spots for others.
@OceanIsle@Rosen1001 we are still waiting as well. We keep checking the site everyday to see if there is any change. My D’s friend got deferred and then her status changed to “not quite a rejection but more like try other schools nearby” I am not sure of exact wording. I read it really quickly on the screen shot she was sent
@weldmel , that’s a crazy message! So sorry you are still waiting. Seems like after early applications there was quite the bottleneck at UCF. I can’t imagine how many apps they must get but I’m guessing their staff must be pretty overwhelmed. Good luck!
They received over 46,000 applications last year. The deadline for Top 10 Knights in January 15. So at least by then, they know how many people they have to guarantee admission to.
Best of luck to those waiting- I hope you hear good news soon!
My family is being forced to move to Orlando this coming summer due to my dad’s work. So just in case, I submitted an application to UCF. I will be applying as an OOS.
Does anyone have information on how long it will take to receive an admission decision given the UCF rolling admissions model conjunction with the national decision deadline/extended deadlines?
I suspect most of these were originally part of the Florida community college system. Most of them have now morphed into full 4-year colleges, and the UCF Connect program provides guaranteed admission as an upperclassman after obtaining your AA from a Connect Campus.
That may not be ideal, may not be what your ideal is – but it is a fallback plan.
If I were you, I would try calling UCF Admissions directly. You may have to survive a 6-minute phone mail message, but once you get through to a human they are very helpful.
They are almost all working from home right now, so if you can’t reach them by phone, email them.
You will find both phone numbers and email on the UCF Admissions page.
