I am an economics student at ERC . I would like to get recommendations for the fall quarter and what is the suitable number of units to register as I am an international student.

Have you looked at the sample plans for ERC students (http://roosevelt.ucsd.edu/academics/longtermplan.html)? You can put in your economics major and a suggested plan for what you should be taking and when. That’s a good place to start for figuring out what classes you should take.

I would recommend starting off with 16 units, which is what students typically take. You can always drop a class if it’s too much and go down to 12 units, while still being a full time student. If it’s too easy, you can always take more units next quarter.
