Fall Schedule

hi! i’m an incoming animal science major thinking about double majoring in ansc and iard and minoring in spanish and need some advice about my schedule.
i’m worried my schedule is really overloaded but i also feel like all of these classes will give me a good base and cover most prereqs that i need…

ANSC 1100 4cr
BIOG 1105 4cr
CSS 1900 3cr
CHEM 2070 4cr
SPAN 1230 4cr

which equals 19credits…heh. so could someone tell me what classes are really unnecessary for me or is this schedule fine? oh! and if there are any animal science upperclassmen out there would you mind posting your freshman schedule?
thanks a bunch!!!

Is it really necessary for you to take CSS 1900 this fall? That’s the only thing I really notice.

Edit: CALS restricts its first year students to 18 credits. You would have to drop something.

well i guess it isnt necessary but i read through some of the iard info and it looked like they suggested taking css 1900 as a freshman and its only offered in the fall.

…oh poo. i guess ill be dropping css 1900 then hahaha

thanks for the response!

spanish 1230 is an extremely time consuming class (more than bio or chem) says my brother who is smart and took it this year, and he went to cornell almost fluent in spanish. take spanish next year for sure.

“Almost fluent” lol I think that was probably an exaggeration. I took Spanish 209 as a freshman and it was basically a repeat of my last year of HS spanish (which wasn’t even the highest level of Spanish my high school had to offer).

hahaha okay i dont think ive mastered spanish to the point of 2090 and its been a year since i was in a spanish class soo i think id be starting at 1930 the highest lol

not sure if i wanna give up css 1900 tho b/c it seems rly interesting and the prof seems awesome…

yeah maybe a bit exaggerated, but I think he and everyone in spanish 1930 wish they started with something lower or didn’t take it at the same time as bio and chem. the advisor I have said 1930 is very time consuming as well, even more so than the level above it.
extra note, in 1930 he gets a b- and does much better in his other classes.
he actually wound up transferring to a different school this year to be near his girlfriend - ucla,
this is all just my opinion - I would definitely hold off on spanish until next semester or next year - or consider the level above, but stay away from 1930 in which it is very hard to get a decent grade. good luck
anyway, you do what is best for you and works for your schedule.

I’m an animal science major too! You are aware that all of those science courses come with labs right? I’m taking all science courses this upcoming fall. Excited to take animal classes mainly, not the other stuff.

animal science majors ftw! hahaha
yeah i know my schedule looks horrendous with all of these 3hr blocks o.O

i think im just going to postpone biology until the spring since i hav some ap credit which will leave me with 16 credits with my pe course. for spanish i think ill try to enter at the level above. i think. heh still not completely sure what to do for this one.

You’re probably aware or maybe I’m the one missing information but… what about your FWS?
