So I have the Princeston Review (PR) Cracking the SAT 2011 with me and I skipped from Critical Reading to Essay because I’m good at writing and I just wanted to see how its suppose to be like. I’m a sophmore btw.

Anyway PR is talking about examples and I was wondering if you can fabricate examples but not like historical events but like put in personal events that are false. Also are some good classical books, (I read Mice and Men, Mocking Bird, Catcher in Rye, Gatsby) that would help me with examples.

You may fabricate history or twist/manipulate/make up details that would support your prompt. Your essay is not scored on its factual content, but on your ability to synthesize an argument.

The Great Gatsby would be great. Use it for examples regarding jealousy, wealth, corruption, socioeconomic status affecting decisions (Daisy choosing Tom because Gatsby was poor), desperation.

Of Mice and Men is good too. The most obvious theme I would take from it is friendship.
