"Family" Dilemma on App

<p>I was recently filling out the “family” tab, and I came upon a problem. You see, my parents went to college in Montreal, Canada so things are kind of different. For my dad, he went to a pre-university school, which is where you attend for 2 years and then go to either a college or a graduate school. He went to med school after the pre-university, so I had no trouble filling the graduate school part out. However, for the college part… I don’t know what to put for the degree he earned.</p>

<p>I can either put: none, high school, ged, vocational, some college, associates, or bachelors. My college counselor said to put Associates, but that kind of makes it seem like my dad went to a community college before medical school, which isn’t what happened… and that doesn’t make much sense either… however if I put “none” then it also seems weird.</p>

<p>P.S. Here is a description of the system that I am talking about. What I’m discussing goes under the “Pre-University Program” section.</p>

<p>Go with what your counselor said. Your counselor is likely to have better information than anyone on here. If you want to explain it further, use the “Additional Information” section.</p>

<p>The family information section isn’t a critical part of the application, so approximating it as Associates (especially if you explain further) isn’t going to make much of a difference.</p>
