Famous Dartmouth alums

Okay, Dr. Seuss and Daniel Webster are the obvious ones, but do you guys know of any others?

Here are a few I know of…

Aisha Tyler–comedian, author, played Ross’ love interest “Charlie” on the last season of Friends
Rachel Dratch–Saturday Night Live
Michael Arad–architect who designed the new World Trade Center Memorial
Bill Asher–Porn King of the US, president and past owner of Vivid Entertainment, America’s largest pornography distributor
James Forrestal '15–first ever Secretary of Defense

Quite an eclectic bunch, I’d say. Just curious if you guys knew of any others (and I thought I’d start a new thread to get the count up  )

Bill Asher is my hero

the CEO of General Electric

Nelson Rockefeller, Former Maine Gov. Angus King…lots of politicians…
C. Everett Koop

slipper, are you awake at 4??!!!

haha, yeah. Paper due tomorrow…

Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich
Former Supreme Court Chief Justice and Secretary of the Treasury Salmon Chase

I think Laura Ingraham went to Dartmouth. She’s a conservative pundit.

Also, the CEO of Goldman Sachs.
Dinesh D’Souza, conservative scholar.
Mort Kondracke, another pundit.
Thaddeus Stevens, father of the 13th and 14th Amendments to the Constitution.
Greg Fossedal, the youngest-ever editorial page writer for the Wall Street Journal.
Peter Fitzgerald, outgoing Republican Senator from Illinois.
Norman Maclean, UChicago English professor of “A River Runs Through It” fame

Chip Reese, great poker player.

I never knew Rachel Dratch went to Dartmouth. That’s so cool.

I was just (re)reading the Dartmouth viewbook yesterday, including the 80-some alumni listed. Of course, Bill Asher wasn’t mentioned.

Reggie Williams and Jay Fiedler of the NFL.
We all know Robert Frost went and dropped out. Drawing a blank here, time to go Christmas shopping!

Professional baseball players Brad Ausmus and Mike Remlinger. Also, Mr. Rogers attended for 2 years before transferring to Rollins College in Florida. He was given an honorary degree in 2002.

Captain Kangaroo…

Yes Ghaleon, Laura Ingraham went to Dartmouth. (PS- She is awesome. I met her at a book signing on Long Island and she is AMAZING.)

Ah, athena. She’s one of the only talk show hosts I can stand. To tell you the truth, it might have even affected my college decision, if only a little.

What’d you girls talk about?

We talked about the Review (I was on the Review at the time.)
And the PC influence on college campuses.

Famous alumnae – Joanna Defeo (my english teacher)

gets jealous

That’s cool. The biggest writer I’ve ever met is Rich Lowry. I’m sure Ingraham is just as interesting.
