wow…you hate a lot of people purpoise.

I love…
Colin Powell - for keeping a level head in an administration full of idiots
Thomas Jefferson - no explanation required
Barack Obama - for being an actual honest politician for once
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert - again, little explanation needed

I can’t really think of anyone else. Most conservatives are idiots and most liberals are tools these days.

I hate Fred Phelps. That guy is just a ■■■■■■■.

Please. I could say the same for Ann Coulter, minus the “tactful” and plus “b!tch”.

“I hate Fred Phelps. That guy is just a ■■■■■■■.”

Agreed.

“Please. I could say the same for Ann Coulter, minus the “tactful” and plus ‘b!tch’.”

lol.

It’s not really hate- it’s… my dislike list. I don’t wish any of these people dead, but I don’t like them and they’re not on my love list.

Fides et Ratio- Thank you for enlightening me on the Pope’s past. I must admit that I didn’t really look into it before making that statement. I apologize. He’s off the hate list.

Hate is a pretty strong word to use for people most of you have never personally met.

“I hate Fred Phelps. That guy is just a ■■■■■■■.”
I wholeheartedly agree. No other words can describe it.

“5. Anyone against stem cell research
6. Anyone against abortion rights
7. Anyone against gay marriage”
So you basically dislike those who are religious? I’m not saying I am for or against either, but many religious people are very set against such.

I’m not against those who are religious. But religious people shouldn’t try to impose their views on the rest of america. Separation between church and state, right? Just because you wouldn’t have an abortion doesn’t mean that there should be a law banning it for everyone. And if religious people don’t like gay marriages, then they shouldn’t have them. That’s all.

If the world followed the teachings of the Dalai Lama…

He is Love itself.

P.S. I am not a Budhist. I am a middle of the road person from NY. I saw him with Barbara Walters and he radiates peace, happiness and love. An unbelievable human being!

And that is an argument I happen to agree with. I firmly believe in the separation of church and state. America is supposed to accept all religion, not legislatively favor one.

Not in any particular except for #1

Noam Chomsky, nuff said

Mohammad Mossadegh, look it up
3.Gandhi

Arbenz of Guatemela
5.Salvador Allende
6.Bernie Sanders

Dwight Eisenhowe, because of his military-industrial speech, his presidency was lame

Martin Luther King Jr.

Pope John Paul II, because he’s at least a CONSISTENT religious person unlike Fides, he’s anti-war, anti-death penalty, anti-abortion, pro-life all the way through
10.Martin Luther

DISLIKE
- All the Israeli Premiers, top to bottom, through Herzl in there too for good measure
- Coulter
- Kaczinski
- Bush II
- Kissinger
- Dulles brothers
- Churchill
- O’Reilly
- Rupert Murdoch
- Ayn Rand

Misterflyer, just out of curiosity, why do you hate #1 and #10?

“I’m not against those who are religious. But religious people shouldn’t try to impose their views on the rest of america. Separation between church and state, right? Just because you wouldn’t have an abortion doesn’t mean that there should be a law banning it for everyone. And if religious people don’t like gay marriages, then they shouldn’t have them. That’s all.”

The separation of church and state is about the state not being able to persecute people based on their religious beliefs. It came about in a time when America was attempting to show how different it was from England – unlike in England, Protestants and Catholics would be on equal footing, and neither need fear trouble from the government because of their faith.

What the separation of church and state is not about is the state divorcing itself from the moral beliefs of its citizens in drawing up or protecting laws to govern the nation. Gay marriage, abortion, and euthanasia are illegal in America because the majority of its citizens believe that they should be illegal. This is how democracy works. Believe me, when most Americans believe that Adam and Steve should be able to be married (or that abortion or euthanasia should be legalized), it will eventually become legal. It won’t be instant – things take time in democracies – but it will happen. The people will vote for candidates who support the legalization of these things.

"If the world followed the teachings of the Dalai Lama…

He is Love itself.

P.S. I am not a Budhist. I am a middle of the road person from NY. I saw him with Barbara Walters and he radiates peace, happiness and love. An unbelievable human being!"

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is certainly all that. In his wisdom, in keeping with Tibetan Buddhism, he is against homosexual marriage and abortion. He is extremely pro-family and pro-life. A lot of liberals seem to be shocked to hear that, but when a “married” lesbian couple went on a pilgrimage to meet him and have their union blessed, he refused.

“Pope John Paul II, because he’s at least a CONSISTENT religious person unlike Fides, he’s anti-war, anti-death penalty, anti-abortion, pro-life all the way through”

John Paul II was “anti-war,” but even he recognized that the Second World War was a war that needed to be fought. He, like I, would of course prefer it if every problem could be solved diplomatically and the world was at perpetual peace. But this isn’t reality.

Fides, you know exactly which war I was referring to. Don’t try to spin it. He was against the Iraq War hands down. Against the USA"S use of the Death Penatly Hands Down. Stop spinning.

Oh why do I hate #1 and #10.

1. Israeli Premiers. Most of them were terrorists. Begin and Gurion both come to my mind. These are British classifications of terrorism not Arabic. They have also been involved in the longest occupation , 60 years, with not much great political action towards ending the war, merely seving to perpetuate it.

Ayn Rand. Not much against her as a person. But if you ever read the Ayn Rand Institute and L.O.G.I.C. which is on some college campuses you would understand. You should look up Yaron Brook. Maybe I am not a precisely effective reader, but these people justify what they say through Ayn Rand, so she must have been a horrible person.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Ayn Rand Institute. Regarding their views on America, President Bush, the War on Terror, the mission in Iraq, and Israel, I am with them 100%. Regarding their stance on religion – that religious faith is akin to “childish fantasy” and is bad and dangerous (thanks, Leonard Pinko) – I obviously think they are way off and deserving of derision.

I’ll ally myself with them on certain issues to accomplish common goals on a temporary basis, but I could never join them or be a part of their “Objectivist” movement. As much as I am their friend, I am their enemy.

I was waiting for this argument. Yes, the separation of church and state was created based on this reason, but the fact that it exists prevents any reverse action. Besides, if I wasn’t Christian, would I want to live in a country that favors them legislatively?

Fides you never responded to the Pope John Paul II and the Iraq War. I want to see if you’re more of a far-right funy or more of a Catholic.

I believe the world should and I will use this term carefully “hate” Ann Coulter for being the racist female dog that she is. After all she was the one who said Ali Baba should be barred from flying (meaning all muslims) and should opt to use his flying carpet instead.

I’m also not really fond of:

That chick on CNBC who moved from FOX…the one with that really annoying voice.

Condeleeza Rice and Dick Cheney/Bush.

Bill O’ Reiley & Glenn Beck.

Lou Dobbs - geez he finally found out the middle class had problems and decided to devote and entire show on this topic. What a genius! Blah!

David Lettermen…no hard feelings…he’s just not funny.
